Right approach. BTW, when I put the HM901 into pocket it gets quickly hot (covered ventilation on both sides ?).

HM 901 is my choice No 1 due to the sound, too. But without charger there is no sound. 12V charger is a must for every digital device which cannot be charged over USB. Mr. Fang, my audio genius, do you hear me??? :(

I do not know how to describe, the strings sound somehow more "metallicaly" to me. But I may be just an illusion. I am just curieous what do other feel. I hope there is a possibility to downgrade as 1.82 I liked much.

What do others think about the sounding of 1.84 in comparison to 1.82? You hear any difference? I feel it sounds slightly sharper (Al Di Meola guitar SACD).  I liked the 1.82 better. 

I still cannot understand that the same hardware with the same components is dead silent in one case and quite noisy in other case.   Otherwise it plays nice, but when I concentrate in pauses between tracks I hear some level of noise even on volume 1-2.

I'm sure your problem is, that when your browser completes download it automatically unzip the file. Try download with another browser or switch off the auto unzip feature.

I've just updated to 1.84 from 1.82. Used update.zip from hifiman.com download. Everything was OK for the first time, shows 1.84 kernel 3.0.
