Alessandro MS1000 and MS Ultimate - DIY & modding [56K warning]
I don't know if this mod have been measured. That's a great idea, it's always nice to see measurements as an assurance. You can contact Tyll directly, I think.- rikaldrey

Android phones and USB DACs
Royal mail isn't it? When I used to live in the UK, I had the same problem. What pissed me off is the "handling fee" they charge. I sent a query on direct.gov and they advised me to tell the sender to mark the parcel with "Goods to be declared by the importer" or something like that. Most Asian...- rikaldrey

O2 AMP + ODAC
Don't forget about HeadnHifi if in Europe. With just a few more, you can get the new revision which has the AC input and RCA output at the back with a 1/4" Headphone out in the front. Very clean-looking. If you want to save even more you can get the DIY kit. Keep in mind he is based in...- rikaldrey

"The New" Fiio X3 with USB DAC
You have to install a driver in your laptop. It's included in your X3's storage. After you install the driver, change USB connectivity to DAC and plug it in or restart your X3 if it's already plugged in. Your laptop will recognize it.- rikaldrey

Alessandro Music Series MS PRO FAN CLUB!
These are my first set of Hifi headphones. After getting it I have enjoyed and explored other genres of music. I mainly listen to Jazz, Classical, Ambient, Instrumental and Blues. Occasional Rock and Metal. Now, I find myself listening to some Electronic music which I really dislike before. ...- rikaldrey

Alessandro Music Series MS PRO FAN CLUB!
I have been enjoying mine lately, with the MS Ultimate mod. I seem to think I'll be enjoying this for a while. I play a variety of genres, and it handles it well. Although I can't describe it in audiophile lingo, but it has decent fluid bass and very clear treble. Sound stage is slightly...- rikaldrey

Project Ember Tube Rolling
Thanks for taking the time to provide some useful information. I have done all the checks you mentioned before. I have tried with 2 Odac's, and a Fiio X3 as a USB Dac, they all exhibit the same symptoms. The noise is more noticeable at around 12-1 'o clock volume. However, when unplugged or...- rikaldrey

Project Ember Tube Rolling
Thanks for posting a thread dedicated for the Project Ember. I have the Ember for almost 2 weeks now, and have been reading the other thread. I can't seem to find specific information regarding this amp, especially that this is my first headphone amp. Anyway, I've got questions about this...- rikaldrey

O2 AMP + ODAC
Thanks for this info. I don't mind paying the extra fee to Royal Mail as they are doing this service. What is absurd is this service is the default, and they don't give information to people that there is a way around this. I am not from the UK but lived there for just 5 years, I get so...- rikaldrey

Project Ember Review
When you finally figured how to adjust the color please don't "over-turn" the potentiometers. It only turn 0-180 degrees I think but definitely less than 360. I accidentally did this to mine and I think broke a spring inside my Red pot and the dial slightly popped up, I pushed it back in whilst...- rikaldrey

No problem. If it was shipped via USPS Priority, a week or two. It also depends on your customs. Did you pay extra for the shipping?- rikaldrey

Definitely! I have an ODAC and Fiio E5, and it plays nice, certainly better than straight from the laptop. I'm also planning to get the O2 since,AFAIK, the cheapest neutral amp. So, it well definitely pair well with the MS Pros. If I want a warmer sound, I'd use my Fiio X3. Enjoy your headphones!- rikaldrey

Grado Fan Club!
I agree with the cheapest. If the wooden box adds up to the price, the I'll take the tattered pizza box instead. I don't even use my wooden box for my MS Pro since I got them, well I only have 1 pair of headphones. It might be different for you. If it was like a carry case one, I would rather...- rikaldrey

Reply to review by 'rikaldrey' on item 'JDS Labs ODAC'
Thanks for the review man. I just got mine, it certainly is better than my built-in soundcard. I agree, if you want more or specific I/O's this is not the DAC.- rikaldrey

Alessandro MS1000 and MS Ultimate - DIY & modding [56K warning]
I just got apatN's distancer and quickly applied it on my MS Pro with some adhesive gum. I quickly noticed some details I have never heard before, or were just to low for my ears. Sorry I don't know audiophile jargons so I can't explain it the way you might understand easily. All I can say is it...- rikaldrey

Grado modders go Magnum
Hi guys. I'm really curious as to how these perform against higher end Grado's, with MS pro's in terms of detail, separation, and neutrality? If hadn't bought it I would've taken the magnum route. Maybe my next buy if they do compare well in those areas plus the fact they have their own...- rikaldrey

"The New" Fiio X3 with USB DAC
This is what I exactly want to know as I want to do the same. Maybe most of them already have decent desktop setups that they just bought the X3 for portable use. Me, OTOH, bought the X3 as my first dac/amp and consider its portability as an extra feature. I'm still awaiting for mine.- rikaldrey

Yes, that's the same color and rods. I emailed Alessandro, they said they can't confirm since it was bought used. All I need to know is that if this version without the goops do exist. If genuine or not, I don't know I would be able to tell since I'm no expert and I've got nothing to compare it...- rikaldrey

Alessandro MS PRO Driver Blob.
I'd hate to bring back the dead but I really need your help. I recently acquired a pair of MS Pro without blobs in their drivers. Now, I'm quite worried if these are transplanted ones from lower end models. I can't find anything that would confirm this thing is genuine. Even Alessandro can't...- rikaldrey

Need help repairing my headphones
Just desolder your old cables and replace them with new ones. As for the choice of cables, you can refer to the diy cable thread. It's pretty simple stuff, if you know how to solder properly. Don't worry too much.- rikaldrey
