Relaxing tonight with the Astell&Kern AK100, Leckerton UHA 6S.MKII amp, and Westone W40s. And old setup I've had for years, and as HI-FI as I get, but still really enjoy this setup as I work from home. Occasionally I substitute the W40s for Beyerdynamic DT 880s (250 Ohm).- DR650SE

Home-Made IEMs
Hmmm, I'll need to take a second look. I didn't touch (I think) any of the caps. I only touched the joints where the MMCX connector wires touch the BAs. I'll maybe try and clean the solder off with some wick and try again. Are they ll wired together? It look like that to me. I wanna make sure...- DR650SE

Home-Made IEMs
Hey guys, hoping I can get some help with an issue. I have Westone W40 IEMs, and my left IEM cracked open and when it did, one of the wires broke from the solder joint. So now I've replaced the wires with 30AWG enameled copper wire. However, in testing it sounds different then the right side. It...- DR650SE

Westone w40 short review, includes pictures.
Has any one repaired the W40s? This ear piece cracked open and when that happened one wire from the female MMCX connector broke, so I've replaced both with enameled copper wire (30AWG). Problem now is I think I may be missing a jumper wire or something because I'm not getting sound out of the...- DR650SE

Hey guys, looking for help. I've done an SD Card swap for a 3rd gen iPod classic. But somewhere, I found a thread or maybe a post online, where someone had replaced the red LEDs in the 3rd Gen iPod classic, to have colored LEDs for a cool colored look. Does anyone know where I can find any...- DR650SE

Hey guys, I'm looking for a clear guide on where to solder with a 4th Gen iPod. I know the output "Z" capacitors/Resistors need to be removed near the DAC, Tha much is clear enough for me. What I'm looking for is where does the other end get soldered to? I'm trying to set this up with a...- DR650SE

DIY Cable Questions and Comments Thread
Hey guys, i'm finally making my way in here as I've finally picked up a nice soldering station (Hakko FX-888). I've repaired a few of my broken headphones I had lying around and would really like to start making new cables, LODs and interconnectors for my DAPs and Amps. As far as the...- DR650SE

Yup sounds about right. Replace the HDD with a Tarken adapter and a new battery and you'll be in business. The taken adapter will allow you to put in an SD card or micro SDXC, depending on which adapter you go with. I'm currently using a single 256GB SD card since that's enough for me at the...- DR650SE

Be sure to save and keep a copy of th iTunes installer. I have a few of older versions I keep for backups. I too like to have my own music library. The only reason I keep iTunes is I'd occasionally purchase things. But more so, I have almost 15 years worth of play lists. I havn't been able to...- DR650SE

Thanks! I'm loving it! Been loving it for a few years now. And I recently got the balls to try my hand at soldering and fixing the 3.5mm plug cutting out I was having on my silver litz IEM cable. Best classical recordings...ever!
Good to see some life here. I know diddly about classical music other then I like it occasionally. I use this thread to discover new stuff. Otherwise I just go to the library and grab random stuff and rip a copy of it. At least here I have peer reviewed stuff.
