Sennheiser x Massdrop HD6XX Review / Preview - Head-Fi TV
One more question, if I manage to get $100 together is it better to buy an amp or dac first? I have my eyes on the objective 2 or magni2 as an amp and the odac or modi2 for dacs.- DerpMaster

Sennheiser x Massdrop HD6XX Review / Preview - Head-Fi TV
If I have NO amp or dac and I currently use hd558, will the 6xx be that big of a difference? Would they sound bad plugged into my onboard sound?- DerpMaster

Can't say I've heard of them. I might have heard a song or two by them however since I usually listen to spotify/pandora radio stations.- DerpMaster

Would the k550 sound similar to the 558? Because the main reason I'm getting new headphones is for a different sound than the 558. I've also head that the k550 is much more detailed than the ath m50. Is this true?- DerpMaster

Closed Headphones under $200
I have sen hd558 and am looking for a closed set of cans that will have a different sound than the senns. Currently I'm looking at the m50/m50x, hd 380/280 pro, dt770, and k550. I listen to mostly electronic music, and i want slightly better bass than the 558. These headphones will be used...- DerpMaster

My current situation
So I listen to music almost exclusively on the bus. Currently I use a Fiio e6 and HD 558, which is obviously less than ideal. I can play audio out through the USB port on my phone which is what I've been doing recently, but the DAC I have honestly sounds worse than the headphone jack. So I'm...- DerpMaster

Finally getting real stuff
http://www.amazon.com/AKG-K550-Closed-Back-Reference-Headphones/dp/B005CNR7B0/ Would these be noticeably better than the 558, and would they pair well with an e6 and an e17 in the future?- DerpMaster

I've been looking into the Fiio E10 as a DAC, but I really have no idea whether or not a DAC would improve the quality- DerpMaster

Finally getting real stuff
So what I've been doing for about a year since i got my 558s is just using a Fiio e6 from my phone. Now, I am looking to give my computer a soundcard or a DAC or something. I'm really not sure on what to buy, but I really don't want to spend more than $100-$150 on the whole thing- DerpMaster

Plantronics BackBeat Pro
I have the opportunity to buy a pair of plantronics backbeat pros for $100. My current headphones are the sennheiser HD 558. I am wondering if the difference would be noticeable enough to justify the purchase. I currently use my 558s on the bus because I don't own any travel headphones, but...- DerpMaster

Good configuration for use with hd 558
So I'm using the sennheiser hd 558 right now, but i'm wondering what would be a good configuration (amp, etc) to use with my laptop. It does not need to be a portable setup, because I no longer use my laptop for traveling. I'm still rather new to high quality audio, as you can probably tell. I...- DerpMaster

Need a good portable set
So I travel on the bus a lot, and my current headphones are insuffcient for traveling (HD 558). What is a good pair of headphones that is compact, noise canceling, but still good quality in the $100 range.- DerpMaster
