Are DAPs important sound quality wise? Or are they just an avenue to stream music from? Do they add power/volume and affect sound signature the same way an amp/Dac would? Or can I get away with just a nice Amp/Dac and using my cellphone as a DAP?

I have a pair of IEMs where there is a small gap at the top of one from when they attached the faceplate to it. Does anyone have any suggestions on a clear laquer I could use to fill the plastic in? Or maybe some other material that would do the trick?

i was looking for a set of headphones at or under $100; they will be used mainly for dubstep, electronica, hip-hop, rockabilly, and rock. id like them to be a little bass heavy but not completely overpowering. recommendations would be appreciated
