    The discovery thread!

Too late. I got mine a few days ago. I haven't tried it yet, though. I bought it together with a couple of silver/purple cables for my IEMs with that color scheme. (XINHS 8 strands of silver-purple single crystal copper plated with silver). I'm not one to spend a lot on cables.

    The discovery thread!

I can't be 100% certain, but after trying a couple of Klipsch in ears (one no name with squishy foams attached and the other was a variation of S4) I finally bought a 'high end' IEM for the first time: AKG N40. I still like the sound but it's so small that it won't stay in my ears for long. Thus...

Not totally sure it's part of the sale, but it's always a sale on Ali, isn't there? Anyway, I got myself a few new Tiandirenhe products. I have a few already and have liked most of them. Only one dud so far. They seem to have been the OEM manufacturers behind Magaosi (my favourite IEM is Magaosi...

Could you please measure the shells so we can decide whether they are too large? The Tangzu ZeTian Wu was a bit too 'fat' in my ear but not the nozzle. This IEM has a different shape but seems to have similar outer ear shape. Length and width of the faceplate, thickness at wide, outer ear part...

Having now had the time to let Kiwi Ears Quintet get 'burned in' for 30+ hours, some things have changed. I know that planar drivers need some time to start delivering. That happened with my Hifiman HE400i. After a while, it suddenly 'changed' its sound signature and became more authoritative...

    The discovery thread!

I don't see any info on Tangzu Xuanwu Gate anywhere. All I know is that it's a tribrid. No detailed pictures, no price information, no sound impressions and no info on what three drivers are in this IEM. They were supposedly available for listening at two audio shows late September together...

Got the Kiwi Ears Quintet in the mail today. First impressions are: Fit: They fit my ears very well using the wide bore medium sized tips that come with the IEM. They have a good outer shape and has a quite long (a bit too long) nozzle with the proper angle (not like Penon Fan 2). Fin doesn't...

Akros does talk about the Tiandirenhe V3 in his QOA Vesper 2 video. You can see the graph there. In real life its bass has a rather small impact. The original Magaosi V3 was supposedly a bass heavy IEM though I've seen 2 very different graphs for it. One can be found at squig.link. That one...

Yeah, I know. I think it has something to do with the very gradual pinna gain on the DQ4 but maybe because the TSMR Land is a tribrid? I think the graph is for switch setting 010. Also, it's really difficult to get them to stay put in my ears. Nozzle and IEM shape doesn't work with my ears. Then...

Actually, it probably is. However, it doesn't show itself in the playback. If you put a notch filter at 8k and EQ it down 4 Db it looses most of its air frequencies that I like (cymbals and other high frequency percussion instruments). In my ears, Olina (OG), to compare with another IEM, is too...

    The discovery thread!

I'm going to recommend an 'old' IEM before it disappears completely. The Magaosi DQ4 has had it's small share of reviews but didn't get a wide appreciation. For me, it has the perfect sound profile. It's mainly an IEM that pushes clarity with a bass that is still quite present. It's also the...

    The Kiwi ears Quintet Thread:

So if the nozzle is wide to some, how wide is that? Normal width is usually 4.5 to 5.5 mm. From pictures of the IEM in people's ears and fingers, I'd think the body is around 20 to 25 mm long. How long is the nozzle? SuperReviews said its fit was pretty deep.

Chinese / Asian Brand IEM Info Thread

I did order the Tiandirenhe V3 but I don't really know whether it really is true that they made the V3 since their version has a different shape and different bass port. I would find it strange if they changed both of those in order to sell them under a new name. And yes, I have seen graphs of...

Chinese / Asian Brand IEM Info Thread

Thanks. No, they don't have any to sell and they don't seem to remove the page even though they say that is the case. I have ordered the Magaosi DQ4 from them so they do ship to Europe. I tried ordering from GeekyAudio Store, and I think I messaged Beteran Audio Store, too. No luck. The only...

Chinese / Asian Brand IEM Info Thread

As far as I know, you can't get Magaosi V3 anywhere anymore. I tried. No shop in Aliexpress has any in stock and other shops I asked were unable to source any. Magaosi/Hilisening have stopped manufacturing IEMs. Do you have a source for V3? I know some shops in Thailand sell them but I can't...

Yeah, SuperReviews* actually got that backwards as well in a recent video. It doesn't make sense to say that "if nothing constricts the nozzle, the treble is tamed" instead of "if nothing constricts the nozzle, the eartip won't affect the sound". I'd say that wide bore gives you the true sound...

Well, my country is not in the list, so I don't know what the problem is. I managed to order 3 years ago, but maybe some things about duties have changed since then. I tried to get help through the Chat but they didn't seem to understand my problem. I'm trying to get a couple of IEMs from a...

I would like to order some 'unknown' IEMs some time but I can't buy from Aliexpress. Something about "According to AliExpress policy, this order cannot be placed". Any ideas? I sent an ID photo a couple of months ago since they asked for it. No response. My first order from 3 years ago was no...

Reply to review by 'ericf' on item 'ISN EST50'

My set sounds very much more like the Perrivan Audio graph: Perrivan Audio review That means the treble 'cuts' off at 5 kHz and there's not much treble after that. Some tracks produced with lots of bass are too much. More guitar based music, singer songwriting artists like Jane Siberry and...

Not in his I try my $9,000 bag of IEMs or I torture myself with more Chinese IEMs unless it's in an unmarked segment of the videos. So where does he talk about Penon or ISN IEMs?

Hmm... So you didn't read that comment that AFUL actually burns in their IEMs before putting them in the packaging and shipping them out to customers? Someone dropped that info in this thread or the one about AFUL. I'd say that means the drivers should be 'properly aligned' from the get go in...

MEAOES Audiophile IEMs impressions & reviews

Yeah, he measured that dB difference at roughly 105 dB on this graph so the peaks are at 16 dB from the 700MHz. There's something crazy with how the upper mids and treble + air looked on his graph. Here's a screengrab of it.

Looks like Acros did have the proper filters. He said so in response to a question about it in the comments. Wow, that graph is something.

MEAOES Audiophile IEMs impressions & reviews

Akros just posted a video and his is the only 'new' measurement I've seen. Nothing on squig.link. In his measurement there's a 13 dB pinna gain so I think it has the wrong filters. I kind of like the design of these but I need to see a proper graph to be sure. It can't be too bright or too dull...
