DAC Upsampling and Entry Equipment Comparisons
Quote: Good to know about the resampling info. The more I've researched and learned over this week, it seems like my best options are to either spend far more money and get equipment that will last me longer than the entry-level gear or build something that costs as much as the...- harry truman

DAC Upsampling and Entry Equipment Comparisons
Yep, I can barely discern a difference between a high quality MP3 and any lossless format -- only songs that I know by heart and even then I have to be really paying attention. I'm more interested in making sure whatever I get is simply capable of thorough playback.- harry truman

DAC Upsampling and Entry Equipment Comparisons
I'm sure this has been asked before but I couldn't find anything specific. I'll soon be buying a dedicated amp/DAC and I'm trying to figure out how DACs handle sampling rates that are higher than their specifications. I currently use the motherboard built-in Realtek ALC889 DAC that supports...- harry truman

Trying to Find Info About This Eyevancsu CMoy Amp
This Eyevancsu CMoy amp was given to me by a friend who also got it from a friend. It's a CMoy amp that was apparently made by Eyevancsu. And it's a pretty heftly little amp as it's able to effortlessly power all of the headphones I have. Is anyone else familiar with it? A few other people...- harry truman

JVC HA-FXT90 Thread
Quote: The cable roller isn't necessary -- you'll potentially damage the wires if you wrap them around objects. For these in particular, I picked up this cheap-o headphone case that has a little mesh net pocket on one side. The pocket keeps the cable held in snugly and the earphones...- harry truman

HiFi in Seattle Area
Speakerlab and Definitive Audio both have a few good headphones. And there may be one or two others but I've not found anybody with any decent selection. From everything I've read, 32 Ohm Audio in Portland and the Headphone Bar in Vancouver have the largest offering in the PNW.- harry truman

The NEW JVC HA-S400. Affordable Carbon Nanotube cans for the masses.
Quote: I can't find who posted it but I saw someone who put their extra HD25-1 II pads on these. He said it was a tight fit and took a while to get on. Edit -- Disregard that last part. I just put mine on in about 5 seconds. So, yes, they fit perfectly and install easily. ...- harry truman

After a year of lurking... (Hi, and a recommendation request)
Do the L-Cush pads completely cover the ear? Or is it possible to mod the SR80s to use a bigger pad? I've so far avoided them because I read a lot about them being uncomfortable. -- Landon- harry truman

After a year of lurking... (Hi, and a recommendation request)
I've looked at Grado but it seems that there's not much of an improvement over what I have now until it gets up to the SR225i and beyond. And just today I was reading some reviews about the ATH AD700X since they're on sale from BuyDig but it seems like they have even weaker bass than the 555...- harry truman

After a year of lurking... (Hi, and a recommendation request)
Hi. I finally decided to make an account after ~1 year of browsing/reading as I foster my growing audiophile obsession... Anyway, in an attempt to [temporarily] curb spending, I'm trying to find a specific headphone (as opposed to buying everything interesting that I find). My two go-to...- harry truman

JVC HA-FX40 | Believe the hype!
I picked mine up about two months ago. For only being $18, they sound amazing. The highs and lows are a bit overpowered but overall they sound great. They're very isolated with Comply tips (didn't bother to even try the stock tips). Actually, I was so impressed with them that I almost...- harry truman

JVC HA-FXT90 Thread
I've had my FXT-90s for just over a month now. Got them from Amazon and had them shipped from Alexcious in Japan. With expedited shipping they were shipped on a Tuesday and at my door on Saturday -- pretty damn quick for being an imported item. Anyway, these are only my second foray into...- harry truman

Review : Sennheiser HD 25-1 II
I got mine almost a year ago and have loved every minute with them. Strong, punchy bass with clear mids and highs. Balanced and not overpowered in any range. The soundstage is a bit lacking but that's to be expected. They're also very light and durable. But I have a larger head and the...- harry truman
