Even though I bought the official stacking kit, I've reverted to my original stacking method for my X5. It's a simple and cheap option that keeps the silicon case and uses a short bit of thick (0.5mm?) double-sided sticky tape (the foam-type stuff) - it works an absolute treat for my A3.
