Portable Headphones over-ear under $240 (edited thread)

Got my Momentum today, and I'm pretty happy with my choice, I really love the airy sound, comfortable and warm bass, and it's nice and detailed, so I think I made the right choice. :) The bass doesn't have a lot of kick like my D600, but it produces enough bass to satisfy my needs, at least...

Portable Headphones over-ear under $240 (edited thread)

I ended up ordering the Momentum instead of the M50x because they're within my price range (it was 18% off), they have a more organic sound, not as punchy bass as M50x but it has a warmer bass (warmth in music is really important to me, more important than punch, if I could I would go for...

Portable Headphones over-ear under $240 (edited thread)

Well it is tempting, I might go way over budget, it's unfortunately a bad habit I have, especially when it comes to certain electronics because I want the best experience possible, and I've been disappointed way too many times with lower budget stuff. How are the M-100's when listening to stuff...

Portable Headphones over-ear under $240 (edited thread)

I did some reading and a lot of people say the Momentum are an upgrade, and that the M50x can be a bit harsh on the ears if you listen to Metal at higher volumes, so I'm atm leaning more towards the Momentum. The M50x are also a bit more fatiguing while the Momentum has more comfortable highs...

Portable Headphones over-ear under $240 (edited thread)

Thanks. I think I'll go for the FiiO E06 amp though, its a cheap and small amp and with the M50x headphones it'll be within my budget, and since I'd like to get more sound (the sound on my phone is just a tiny bit too low IMO) it wouldn't really hurt buying the E06 amp, after all the amp alone...

Portable Headphones over-ear under $240 (edited thread)

I really appreciate the suggestion, buying an MP3 player didn't really cross my mind until you suggested it, so I might do just that sometime in the future. I'll see if Samsung sells batteries for my Galaxy Alpha, it would be weird if they didn't, but if I don't buy an amp I might just buy one...

Portable Headphones over-ear under $240 (edited thread)

I'll be playing most of my music through Spotify, so an MP3 player will have to wait until I've increased my music collection some more, and I don't want to illegally download music just to get the variation I want, so Spotify will have to do for now even though I'm restricted to MP3 files. (If...

Portable Headphones over-ear under $240 (edited thread)

Thanks a lot, now I decrease my budget a bit and still go for a more expensive pair of headphones than if I were to buy the Fiio E11K, but I still want to have the ability to play for many hours without emptying my phone, so are there any affordable amps or items that I can connect my phone to...

Portable Headphones over-ear under $240 (edited thread)

    1. So that I don't empty my phone of power easily and so that I can play music for many hours. 2. The onboard sound of most phones won't really do a lot of headphones justice, so with an amp I can unlock the potential of the headphones and help increase and give the bass more control. (at least...

Portable Headphones over-ear under $240 (edited thread)

Just the headphones alone are $30 over my price budget, as I said I might go higher than $300, but not if the headphones alone blow my budget. If I could I would go for a pair of headphones that expensive, but I don't really have a need for such expensive portable headphones since I'm not going...

Portable Headphones over-ear under $240 (edited thread)

I live quite far away from any place that allows me to try audiophile grade headphones, so the only thing I have to go on is my Denon AH-D600 headphones connected to my Objective2 amp and Xonar Essence STX soundcard, so when I turn up the bass as much as I can without the bass getting muddy, I...

Portable Headphones over-ear under $240 (edited thread)

New: I'm looking for a good pair of headphones that suits playing Metal, for the most part I listen to Progressive and Death Metal, but also stuff like Soundgarden, Alice in Chains, Jane's Addiction etc. I need something that has a good amount of bass, but with tight and controlled bass, the...

Thanks, this is going to help out a lot =)

Would Schiit Valhalla 2 work well with Audio-Technica ATH-AD700X?

I'm planing on buying a pair of Sennheizer HD650 headphones in the future, but first I thought I would get myself a nice amp, so I did some searching and found out that the Valhalla 2 works really well with the HD650, but I have a pair of ATH-AD700X headphones that I wonder if would also work...

Looking for good headphones for metal (max $500)

I'm looking for something that is comfortable to wear over a long period of time, the AD700X got pretty good reviews on the comfort, but how do the sound compare to other Open-Air headphones around the same price range? Do you think the Objective 2 will work nicely with either the ATH-AD700X or...

Looking for good headphones for metal (max $500)

I would really like to get my hands on the D2000, but they're no longer sold in Norway, and I couldn't find the Grado RS01 anywhere. I checked out Audio-Technica ATH-AD700X and it looks pretty interesting, and I really like the natural sound of open-air headphones, but according to the review I...

Looking for good headphones for metal (max $500)

Trying out headphones is a problem, I have limited transportation, I don't know where I can test headphones and I live pretty far from any city or small town. I only use a Xonar Essence STX soundcard, but I have planned on getting a Objective 2 amp. For the most part I listen to a lot more...

Looking for good headphones for metal (max $500)

Well I've spent a lot of time lately trying to find a good pair for headphones suitable for my taste, but I see a lot of mixed reviews. I was going to buy the Denon AH-D600 (which costs $490 here in Norway) after I read some reviews that they're better at playing metal than the Sennheiser HD650...

    Xonar Essence STX no sound

never mind, I found the problem, but now I'm facing a different problem. For some reason the bass makes the sound distort and go uneven, I didn't have this problem on my previous motherboard's on-board soundcard. I'm using a Sennheizer 360 gaming headset btw EDIT: I did some tweaking and it...

    Xonar Essence STX no sound

Well I just installed my new Xonar Essence STX, but there is no sound on youtube or spotify, there is sound when I use "Speaker Test" on Xonar Audio Center, but nothing on the startup, web browsers or on any software, does anyone know why it seems like I have sound but nothing will play any sound?
