    I use the cable with the SLVR. It works well and let's me use any phone I want. I tried the USB phones that came with the SLVR for about 5 minutes which was about 3 minutes more then I needed to realize they suck.     Sounds like you know a lot about what you what from your axe. Why don't you just find a good guitar shop and start experimenting until you find one that makes the hairs on the back of your neck stand up. You'll know when you find the right one.
