How do ear/headphones provide and reproduce detail? More in the desc.

oh okay interesting. I always thought the opposite. Its no wonder then that some IEM companies can use the same drivers, but the end result can sound different.

How do ear/headphones provide and reproduce detail? More in the desc.

What im really asking is, How do some in-ear/Over-ear monitors give out the kind of detail it does? How come other headphones cant do the same?    There are headphones that are in the same price range lets say, and one of them has a lot of bass, and the other has crazy detail. What is it about...

    Review: Etymotic hf5 earphones

What made you give up the ER4PT then? The inconvenience of use? Did you see it as giving up some detail for comfort? Elaborate of you will....     This is exactly why i can't decide between the two... Should i go with the HF5's for ease of use (i listen to music while moving a lot), or live...

    Review: Etymotic hf5 earphones

Thanks for that. I haven't made a decision, but you've definitely brought me closer to one.   BTW, you know any other analytic sounding IEMs around the price range of the that are around the price of the HF5's? i checked the crazy "300 over IEM shootout" thing, but was wondering if you knew...

    Review: Etymotic hf5 earphones

AWESOME dude! Thanks a lot. This did a lot to help me in my decision making between these two about which to buy. tell me though, are the ER4 models you have hard to wear over-ear? Because i prefer wearing my headphones that way. Less micro-phonics.    Also, are the differences in detail...

    In-Ears for around $100 (HF5, SE215, EPH-100, R-50) with poll

Hey peoples....thread revival. Hopefully this gets seen. So to those who have listened to the Hf5's and the R-50's, how do those two sound compared to each other? in terms of detail retrieval, sound sig, soundstage,...well technically, the whole 9 yards.

    Cheap vs Expensive (portable) Amps

Okay, thanks a lot. i still have questions. Im gonna sound dumb asking a lot of questions but i dont care.   Anyway, firstly what does AFAIK as an abbreviation stand for?   what exactly is low/high impedance?   What are the kinds of things i need to know when im buying an amp? I dont wanna...

Review by 'Deeman' on item 'Sony XBA-40/N Gold | Quad Balanced Armature In-Ear Headphones (Japanese Import)'

I got the XBA-40 almost a year ago. So I've been listening to these for a while now and know well the limitations and string points of these headphones. With that said, this is my first review and not have had very much experience with headphones so far. My only other headphone that I've bought...

    Cheap vs Expensive (portable) Amps

I've been looking around here...and ive not been able to find a thread that could answer my question for me...   So I've just been wondering, what is it that an expensive amp can do that a cheap amp can't do. If there is a substantial difference, when does price/quality ratio start to get...

    Advice from Sony XBA-40 owners

I don't have the ip model so I can't say. It's probably just the lower quality cable...maybe they have product deal with apple there...I mean, why would they make an iPhone applicable one if they have their own line of phones right? Jun.

    Advice from Sony XBA-40 owners

I find the micro phonics at tid bit annoying. Sorry. Anyway, when you get them, and you find the sound sig a little dark, you can try a mod that I found somewhere around here...where you can pull out the foamies in the nozzle, it brightens the whole thing, raises the midrange a little. Other...

More specifically from sabah. On the Bornean side of Malaysia. There are no shops here that actually sell any sort of audio monitors of the sort I'm looking for.

    Shure SE535 or Sennheiser IE8?

Heyy. ..littleted, nice meeting you. Actually, I wanted to get the xba 4 at first. After reading tons of reviews, I decided not to go with that decision. Where I am in through world, I can't really audition any iems so the best I can do is read reviews. That's why I set this thread up, I was...

    Shure SE535 or Sennheiser IE8?

I just wanna ask you...does the midrange seem recessed at all in the i80? It's one of those things that I can't stand. Like I'm listening to music through a sponge or something. If it's like that, I think I'm gonna go with the shures.

    Shure SE535 or Sennheiser IE8?

What are examples of micro detail? Just asking though. Mind is pretty set on the ie80's. Btw, how much did you get your ie80's for?

    Shure SE535 or Sennheiser IE8?

Oh my god, that was a great help. Leaning more and more to the ie80's, if I get those, I think I could tweak the midrange to fit my tastes. Thanks. Dee

    Shure SE535 or Sennheiser IE8?

But I like an aggressive mid end and a good hard bass line. Hmmm....ok, could the ie80's provide a good level of detail? I guess I could Eq it to tone up the midrange. Leaning toward the ie80's now.

    Shure SE535 or Sennheiser IE8?

I can't really go high end. Don't have the money, I'm only sixteen so all I got is 400 dollars. You have any suggestions at this price range for headphones with a sound sig that's got thumping bass but still aggressive in the mid and high freqs? Thanks for the advice btw, i really appreciate it...
