Mad Lust Envy's Headphone Gaming Guide: (8/18/2022: iFi GO Blu Review Added)
I've read thru a lot of this thread... I was hoping someone could point me in the general direction of what I'm looking for! I currently own the AudioTechnica ATH-AD700. It has exceptional comfort. It has zero bass. I may be a closet basshead, and I have a ButtKicker attached directly to...- rogersjd14

FiiO E18 work well with bluetooth?
I apologize if this is a noob question. I have a Note 3, and I am contemplating purchasing the FiiO E18. I primarily listen to music using my Note 3 spotify app streaming wirelessly to my car audio using bluetooth. Will this Amp/DAC improve my sound? I saw that it will actually work...- rogersjd14

HiFiman HE-500 (HE as in High End) Proving to be an enjoyable experience in listening.
Ok guys, from my understanding, the HE-500 will be going *on sale* soon. Here is the discussion thread: http://slickdeals.net/f/5828904-HiFiMAN-HE-400-HE-500-Orthodynamic-Headphones-reg-399-699-group-buy-MASSDROP-COM I've never used massdrop.com before, but it sounds legit. If...- rogersjd14

ZO2 or fiio E17 "ALPEN" bass?
I've seen quite a few comparisons of these two portable amps on the web, but I was hoping an expert could comment on my specific application. I have very bright sounding in-ear Klipsch S2 headphones. I want to improve the overall sound quality, but primarily the bass. The source will be...- rogersjd14

Tactile Transducer with Headphones for gaming?
Is this ZO2 device going to hurt the overall sound of the HE500? How well does it work? I think this is more of what I was looking for: http://www.amazon.com/Buttkicker-BK-GR2-ButtKicker-BK-GR-Gamer/dp/B000AOTLP6/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1357401763&sr=8-1&keywords=buttkicker- rogersjd14

Tactile Transducer with Headphones for gaming?
So I'm about to drop some cash on a HE-500 headphone, O2 amp, Titanium HD soundcard set. I LOVE my bass, particularly the punch! I have a subwoofer in my car, and I can't get enough of the vibration in my chest, and the way the low bass hits. I want a similar punch in my PC gaming (i.e...- rogersjd14

Best Sound Card, DAC/Amp, Headphone combo for Gamer
Thanks for the summary nassq8. I think I will end up buying a pair of HE-500s at the first of the year. Right now heading to India to get married... no one told me weddings were so expensive! ;(- rogersjd14

HiFiman HE-500 (HE as in High End) Proving to be an enjoyable experience in listening.
@Zoom25 Really? I was always under the impression closed headphones (like the D2000) were very hot over long sittings. I would have figured the HE-500 would be easier as far as heat... I've always went with Open Headphones for this very reason!- rogersjd14

HiFiman HE-500 (HE as in High End) Proving to be an enjoyable experience in listening.
I'm going to be pairing my HE-500s with an O2. Titanium HD Sound Card. Headphone stand suggestions? Can someone comment on the weight of the HE-500? I hear it's like the heaviest thing around... I currently have AD700s. So basically, I'm used to pillows of heaven on my head.- rogersjd14

HiFiman HE-500 (HE as in High End) Proving to be an enjoyable experience in listening.
I'm looking to buy a set of headphones for 95% gaming. The HE-500 seems to fit the bill after reading through this thread... My question is, is the HE-500 an end-game headphone? Or would you point to a HE-6 or HD800? There are ALOT of comparisons of the HE-500 to the LCD-2. So if the...- rogersjd14

Best Sound Card, DAC/Amp, Headphone combo for Gamer
Quote: I definitely plan on getting a Titanium HD sound card, and an O2 amp. The HE-500 is at the very top of my price range. Could you explain to me why this is worth the cost of TWO DT990s? If anyone could compare the two on this site, I would GREATLY appreciate it. I've read it even...- rogersjd14

Best Sound Card, DAC/Amp, Headphone combo for Gamer
Thanks for bearing with me. I am learning alot here! Here is the brand new Soundblaster Z. Is this the Titanium HD replacement? Or should I still grab a Titanium HD? The built-in amp seems nice, but I am willing to spend the extra cash to get an O2 if it will sound better. ...- rogersjd14

Best Sound Card, DAC/Amp, Headphone combo for Gamer
I was looking at the specs of the Creative recon3d. It has a built in amplifier that supports up to 600 ohms. It is software driven instead of hardware driven...but anymore, the cpu/memory on a PC is overkill anyway. Looking at the specs, is it still better to get a Titanium HD instead of a...- rogersjd14

MyEars vs CMSS-3D
I'm very familiar with Creative's tech. I am not familiar with the software-based 'MyEars' solution. I ran over a thread of someone who had a XFi Titanium (non-HD), and he swore the MyEars solution sounded better in his FPS games! http://www.myears.net.au/ With today's hardware, a...- rogersjd14

Best Sound Card, DAC/Amp, Headphone combo for Gamer
Awesome feedback! Exactly what I needed. Will this O2 Amp power the DT 990 (600 ohm model)? it says it goes as high as 250 ohm @96dB/mW. They said they can change the gain upon request...not sure if this is needed? http://www.jdslabs.com/item.php?fetchitem=o2full- rogersjd14

So here is what I have narrowed it down to. Remember, this is almost solely for immersive, and slightly competitive gaming. I have chosen these because they have all been recommended for their quality bass: HD650 Ultrasone HFI-2400 Ultrasone Pro 2900 (there is debate if worth the...- rogersjd14

I'm a little confused about the relationship between the PC sound card and the DAC/Amp. So please bare with me... I currently have a Creative Labs XtremeGamer sound card in my PC. I use AD700s.
