That's what i hear too when i switch the cables. I think the driver between the versions is exactly the same. So it makes quite easy for anybody to be able to switch between the sound of the two versions.

Well, i'm not sure at all you'd be able to detect with a blind test the difference between a Mydac and something 10x costly. This kind of test already been made and wasn't very successfull.

I strongly disagree. Something like The Micromega Mydac has EXCELLENT numbers when it comes to signal fidelity. Even the 70€ cheap Hifimediy 9018 is enough when it comes to dig into music details. Even slithgly more than the Mojo in the mediums.

Knowing how Hifiman is getting greedy, it would be very surprising to know they took time and money to change anything to the driver.

I don't understand why the 3.5mm is so crappy compare to the 2.5mm output. Even my HifimeDiy dac which has the same dac inside has a way better 3.5mm output sound...It's like they based the dap in with the sole purpose to maximise the balance output while they neglected the regular one totally.

I just found out a terrific pairing for the Oriolus with a smartphone: The Cheap but good HifimeDiy Dac 9018m2k. Ultra clean, spatious, Resolving, engaging. My Aune M1s (the 3.5mm output) is way behind this combo.

I just got the Aune m1s and a Campfire Andromeda. Wow, this precision, expansive soundstage, balanced sound, thick tone, smooth and detailled at the same time...really, i cannot see one single flaw in this combo. Maybe that...the in ear lack the soundstage of my previous He6, but i hardly can...
