Between the stock pads and the XL pads, which one has less bass? I like these headphones, but I always wish the bass was not so forward.

This makes a lot of sense. A crappy PC or a laptop, with a high end Intel or AMD chip, is still crappy. I guess it's what the companies do with a chip. ESS and AKM make the chips, Topping, SMSL, etc., build around them... Yeees. Yeees. Smooth is good. Organic is good. This one has an AKM chip...

Hello. I ordered Drop's (massdrop) THX AAA 789 amp. Looking for a nice DAC to go with this. I plan on using the balanced inputs on the 789. Now, can someone teach me something. When it comes to picking a DAC to go with this, does a single DAC chip or dual chip matter? Here's a couple of DACs...

Just my taste....I bought the D-600. The K550 were balanced, but it didn't offer something different, or special for me--sounded like another pair of good cans I already own. So both the AKG and the Senn's charlie875578 mentioned are respectable cans, but as for me, I already have balanced, or...

OK. So I've been burning in my D-600 for about 100 hrs. now. I must say, as of to date, these cans are becoming one of my favorite, fun, "go-to" headphones. I'm going to ignore the frequency graphs, and let my ears tell me if I like a can or not.   I'll be reaching for my Q701 when I feel...

Just got the D600.   I don't know much about the Bose you're comparing to. What I can do is compare the Denon with my Pioneer HDJ-2000. And the D600 is brand new --not burned in yet...   I also like bass. Don't want to call myself a basshead, but come'on, you gotta have clear, punchy...

I got a chance to test drive the Gold in Best Buy. The sound was just what I wanted....  So of course I bought a pair. Right out of the box, they don't sound like the pair in the store. I'm guessing that this is what everyone talks about - the "burn in" thing.

How does the Gold compare to the Gratitude? Does anybody own both? Also, I hear that the Gold's have plenty of bass... I used to own beats tour ( wasn't happy with the mids & highs), so I got rid of the tours. How does the Golds compare to the Tour??

Is there any difference in SQ, when it comes to using different types of  ear tips?   The gel tips seems to block out noise the best(for me), but I get this feeling that I'm losing a little of the bass... am I imagining this?
