New Audio-gd R-7, R-7HE R-8, R-27, R-27HE, R-28 Flagship Resistor Ladder DACs and DAC/amps
In my R8HE MKIII N0 is a more polite presentation, N1 is more rough. Soundstage is wider in N0 also, and less sibilances. N1 is more sharp and focused, narrowed soundstage, and due this it can trick you, that it's closer to the real thing, until you realize that some balance is missing and edges...- Solurano

New Audio-gd R-7, R-7HE R-8, R-27, R-27HE, R-28 Flagship Resistor Ladder DACs and DAC/amps
MKIII enclosures do look and feel so much better than old ones. My previous R2R-2 felt like a DIY unit. Those days are gone fortunately. Apologies for the bad pictures.- Solurano

New Release & Colorado Tour | X1s GT DAC with headphone amplifier, the 8th gen and the milestone of the classic aune X1 series
As you say, time you set for volume to raise is 800ms.That matches what I've noticed by ear.But nevertheless, 800ms. is way too much for a proper listening experience;if this is is necessary I can't agree by any means. As I am just a final user and not an engineer, can't say there's other way to...- Solurano

New Release & Colorado Tour | X1s GT DAC with headphone amplifier, the 8th gen and the milestone of the classic aune X1 series
Ok, I get it.There's some sort of protection in "pure mode filter" wich causes the volume ramp up.Kind of weird tweak, to be honest.Thank you, again, for the explanation. Now we all know what's going on, and that's a step forward already, and have as the alternative, not to use "pure mode filter"...- Solurano

New Release & Colorado Tour | X1s GT DAC with headphone amplifier, the 8th gen and the milestone of the classic aune X1 series
Hi, and thanks for your attention. OK, then there is something related to mode filter 3 and 4 not working properly using USB input. As you requested I've tried setting filter mode 1 and 2, and you're rigth, now I get the selected volume level from the start of the track without the "ramp up", so...- Solurano

Thanks for sharing your experience, it helps me to figure out what's going on. I'm going to make further tests and also let burn in the unit a few hours more, I'm checking the unit right out of the box, just in case.- Solurano

New Release & Colorado Tour | X1s GT DAC with headphone amplifier, the 8th gen and the milestone of the classic aune X1 series
Very curious.¿are you using your unit as a stand alone DAC or as a DAC/amp? May I have a faulty unit, but it's a USB issue 99%. Both the PC or my USBridge sig. transport suffer the same delay using the USB input. It's just the delay, everything else is OK. Also, with the USB input, volume raises...- Solurano

New Release & Colorado Tour | X1s GT DAC with headphone amplifier, the 8th gen and the milestone of the classic aune X1 series
I can try, but even this could work, that's a solution for W10 only I guess.I would need a Linux solution as well, as I want to use the unit with my Allo USBridge Sig.Don't expect to make it work. It's going to be a long journey in any case, crying around the net for someone to help me...- Solurano

Recieved the unit yesterday.Nice package, looks great:slight_smile:.Excited, I started checking everything in use, so plugged in my AKG 701.Connected then an Allo Digione to Coaxial input and an Allo USBridge Sig. to USB input. The unit seems to be working fine.¿Fine...? ¡Wait a second!Switching...- Solurano

FX-Audio DAC-X7 First look
I don't think you have a defective unit, crabdog.Missing bass is part of the "trickery"... Even though its DAC section is remarkable IMO. I'm going to make a direct comparison with an AudioGD R2R, shortly, but I do not think it's necessary to convince myself of that.I already know there's a bass...- Solurano

FX-Audio DAC-X7 First look
Yet another issue concerning the delay. My new unit seems to mute (I hear a pop as the DAC recieves/cut signal from the PC) when not playing anything, and when you start playing something again there is a tenth of a second delay untill DAC wakes up.It's not the two seconds delay but still a bit...- Solurano

Audio-gd R2R DAC Thread
Hello to everybody.I am a new owner of an R2R 2,I have the DAC for a month.Fed by an Allo Digione Player. It has been playing for 150-200 hours +/-.Sound has been changing to improve for the, let's say, first 50 hours. Now it seems to be stabilized.Or is it going to change/improve further?Just...- Solurano

Still working via coax and toslink. No complaints regards the sound. As a stand alone DAC is simply amazing. For less than 200€!! That's the thing. The more I listen the more I like it.I'm willing to buy an audio GD R2R R1 and I'm not sure if it is worth the money actually. There was nothing...- Solurano

Today I've checked the device in a MAC computer. Not working either and no sign of the device anywhere, so it's not a driver issue.Somehow USB connection/chip has broken down.:triportsad:- Solurano
