Best headphones for commuting?
The sennheiser hd25s isolate very well and are low profile. They're also lightweight and durable for years of use. Otherwise maybe look at some IEMs.- Flillycake

Problem with the Sony MDR Z-1000
Hi I recently bought one a Z-1000 and was really happy with my purchase. Recently though there has been a constant creaking noise that has become very annoying. I know the solution is probably obvious but what do I do to stop the creaking? They're pretty expensive for me and I don't want to...- Flillycake

AKG Q701 vs Denon d2000
I haven't owned the AKGs yet but I think the Denons are quite comfortable. Big cups just like the 701s and has little clamping force.- Flillycake

Headphones for home use
Quote: Wow thanks for the very detailed explanation . It seems to be a worthy interest to look into. Maybe I will try to use vinyls down the line but it seems to be quite a sizable investment in both time and money especially for someone still stacking up debt.- Flillycake

Headphones for home use
Quote: Model 2238B I think. Also its pretty old, probably a good bit older than I am lol. Well I just have my computer as my source at the moment. I don't know if buying an expensive CD player or Vinyl player would benefit me a whole lot.- Flillycake

Headphones for home use
I just have an old hand me down Marantz receiver. I was considering saving up for a dedicated headphone amp in the near future. The Marantz seems to do just fine though. I know almost nothing about amps/dacs and all that other good stuff. My uncle just got me interested in this stuff as...- Flillycake

Headphones for home use
Hello Head-Fiers! I am quite new to the world of higher end audio. Thanks to the recommendations on this site I recently purchased a pair of Sony MDR-Z1000's and I could not be happier with this purchase. I was wondering of there were any open back headphones that would compliment these for...- Flillycake

Portable Headphone Advice...
The HD25s and amperiors are really good at blocking out outside noise. Don't know if you want those if you want to hear your surroundings. I've never heard the m-80s but I've read that it lets more noise in than the Sennheisers with good sound quality.- Flillycake

Closed portable for around $300 or lower
Thanks guys. I was really considering either the Beyerdynamic DT1350 or the m80s since they seem very easy to lug around :). Also, thanks for the offer Roma I'll take a look at that headphone.- Flillycake

Closed portable for around $300 or lower
Hi, I am new to Headfi and am looking around for a new headphone. The only headphones I've had other than the apple stock earbuds were the grado sr60i. These don't really suite me because I normally use my headphones while walking around my campus and I'm rarely in my home. I am looking for a...- Flillycake
