The earpads on MDR-1R are sooo soft and comfy, except they are too swallow for my ears

So I've auditioned those new cans the other day and the second I put them on my ears are in heaven, but not for long because they touch the inside of the drivers which is rather annoying. But my ears are longer than average so I can't complain too much. The point is, I've never worn any...

    MDR-F1 or AD900X

So I was about to get a pair of AD900X until yesterday someone put some F1's on sale. I've heard a lot of good things about them, but still, they are pretty old right? Can they beat the new phones?

J$ Audio (Jeremy Lin) disappeared after I payed him for a pair of Beyer pads, should I be worried?

Yeah you are right, his name is Jeremy Lin, not sure if it's real. I made a paypal personal payment on 11th, Jan and haven't heard from him ever since. He mentioned before his condition was too good so I hope he's OK. It wasn't much money anyway.

Am I the only one that finds the pads on DT990 and HD598 not soft enough?

I've read tons of reviews saying how comfortable those cans are, but when I got them I was disappointed. They're not as comfortable as my cousin's Beats Studio Sure they're light but the velour pads combining with the clamping force are kinda hard on my jaw and cheek. I've never heard...

How much a desktop DAC does HM-801 worth(when used as USB DAC)

Hey I have a dilemma and need some help here Basically I have $800 and want a desktop dac/amp combo and a portable dap. Then I find that HM-801 can do-it-all. So which one do I chose?  Note that I listen to music at home more so dac/amp are more important to me.

Problem with driving 250 ohms version of Beyerdynamic DT990

Hey I've been playing with those headphones for a couple of days and noticed a weird phenomenon: When I plug them directly into my HP 4411s (a business notebook). It sounds OK and the volume's set at about 70-75%. But when I use E17, I use 12 gain and the volume is about 30 (out of 60).  ...

    HELP ME CHOOSE: HD598, AD900, SR225i, or Q701.

My current set up is laptop-E17-DT990 I'm not looking for an upgrade but a change of taste. Without additional DAC or amp, which of those phones I listed is the best choice I listen to vocal mostly and watch a lot of movies.

Which of the following headphones complement my DT990 best?

I've been having my DT990 Premium (250ohms) for a while and loved it a lot. Now that I have a bit extra cash ($200-300), I'm about to invest in my next headphones. I'm not not looking for an upgrade but a pair of cans that complement my DT990 and brings some new listening experience. Here's a...

What goes in-between my Denon AH-D5000 and laptop/Ipad.

I'm a total newbie when it comes to hi-fi. I recently bought Denon AH-D5000 which is my first high-end cans. I really enjoyed it but still feel something is missing. After tons of research I realized I need a DAC, but not sure about whether a headphone amplifier is necessary. My budget is a bit...

Do you think FiiO E09K will work well with Denon AH-D5000?

Has anyone tried this combination? Anyway I'm looking for a handy desktop amp for my D5000, it does not need to be portable but I don't want to take up too much space too. And most importantly, I wanna keep the price tag around $100.  I've heard Fiio is known for its cost-effectiveness, but...

Problem with my Beats Studio. Voice comes through speaker.

I know they are crappy phones and most people here don't give a damn about them. But they're gifts from friends' so I have to go with them and I really need some help here. Anyway there're two cables come with the headphones, one of them is faulty, the other one has mic in line, it works...

WIll it be a waste to use D5000 to watch movies on laptop/Ipad?

I don't know much about headphones and definitely not a audiophile. But my formal phones(senns and at under $100 range) failed me badly. They are either uncomfortable after a while or have bad  qualities. Then I started to look for a decent headphone about $150-$300, with exceeding comfort and...
