Quote: Hi, Thank you ever so much for your wonderful help and reply, it is very much appreciated!     The M2s look perfect, but unfortunately they are about twice my budget :(! As for the E30s, same thing price wise. The PL30s are still a bit on the expensive side unfortunately. Also...

Buying portable or in-ear headphones? Seeking guidance? DON'T START A NEW THREAD. Ask for advice HERE!

Hi there,   Am looking for a new set of in-ear earphones! I'd like the type that actually go into your ears, (I think these are called the canal type or something?) rather than the sort of flat ones (e.g. JVC gummies). I hope that makes sense?! Anyway, my budget is £20, notice I'm in the uk...

Sound card for £20 for music recommendations please!

Hi there,   I'm sure this has come up many a time but I was wondering what you chaps would recommend! I'm looking for a sound card (PCI or PCIe) that will only be used for music listening, possibly recording but this doesn't matter, my main use will be listening! Budget is £20 to £30. My...

    A True Test by Musician... ATH-M50 vs SR60i vs HD280 vs MDR-V6 vs SRH440, vs ???

I don't know quite whether this will fit all of your requirements but something to consider would be the Sony MDR ZX700. They aren't really that basey but with a bit of EQing, they will be fine. They are light, and very comfortable and well built. I have just received mine and attempted a review...

    Burning ath-m50 in

I don't quite know if there is a proper way but I would think the best way is to use pink noise. This is because it gives each octave equal sound power thus meaning the burn in is even. I could be very wrong here though so I'd suggest getting this checked!

My attempt at a review! - Sony MDR ZX700

Right, so I thought, I probably better give something back to the forum that so kindly helped me find some headphones! So, here is my story! Now, I started out with some wireless Sonys that someone gave me because he didn't want them anymore. They were alright, I thought the sound quality was...

You know you're an audiophile when...

You know you are an audiofile when you purposely accidently miss your stop on the circle line just so you can go around again, delaying the time when you have to remove the headphones when you get home to help with chores by 50 minutes! (To be exact, it is 47 minutes...you can tell I have done...

How about this: http://www.audioaffair.co.uk/Audioengine-A2-Active-Speakers-Pair/product_2416?ref=gmc Is that what I should be looking for?

Recommendations would be much appreciated here!

I would like to point out, we aren't after amazing quality here, after all, he uses beats studio headphones...and he thinks they are amazing (puke!). So he isn't any where near an audiofile. I will see what I can find with regards to the A2. So far, from Logitek, I have found...

Recommendations would be much appreciated here!

Thank you very much for replying, it is much appreciated. I forgot to mention, I am in the uk so this is in pounds. Also, the budget is very flexible, we could probably go as high as 200. I'll have a look to see what I can find and then I will go from there. Thank you again. Music Guy

Recommendations would be much appreciated here!

Hi there,   I am looking for some speakers for a friend who is building a new pc. Now, he is no audiofile, his music is not going to be above 256kbps so we don't need top of the range! These speakers will be used for both music and gaming and youtube watching. We don't need 5.1 surround...

don't worry, I understand. So basically you are recommending the ZX700s? This will be good as I think I have a local Sony store so I should be able to have a touchy feely and if the price is good, buy it from there, I am not a fan of buying of the internet for things like this. Also, how do...

Quote: Yes, I agree but sadly most of my friends aren't audiophiles at all, the either own beats or use the apple ear buds. So, no one really owns an 840 for that matter! I am still considering the two sound quality wise, apparently the zx700 has a more even balance with forward mids which...

Gosh, I really do change by the minute! I am now looking at the srh440 and the mdr-zx700. I am leaning towards the latter of the two due to less comfort issues and apparently better sound balance. I think I will try them both at local stores and see which one I prefer. Does anyone else have any...

Ok, I think I have made a decision for the M50s. I am not going to get them, I want to use them for both general use, highly compressed films on my classic and compressed music because I have so much of it. Therefore, I am not going to get them. Does this seem reasonable? Currently I am looking...

Oh and I was considering shure srh440, what do you think of that? The thing is, I can get a serious discount with Audio Technica so I'd like to stay with them. Do you think I will struggle with the M50s or do you think I will be alright? I have read a lot of conflicting reviews about the...

No, I can't let these leak. As for the quality thing, I can't put my quality any higher which is a bit annoying, but you can't have everything in life!

So, I am still looking into getting some headphones for use whilst attempting and failing to study doing work :) ! I was thinking ath m30s (my budget is around £60). Quote: Will do! Can't say I know all the technical garbal so won't be able to tell you whether some low-mid is slightly mellow or something but I can tell you my overall impression. However, I don't know quite when I will be able to get them, it could be anything between 2 weeks to end of...

Quote: Thank you, I will listen to them both, I'll just use a song from each of rock, folk, alternative and some electric for testing. That is a pretty good range, I am sure I won't be disappointed at all. As for prices, everything is much more expensive in the UK. In the U.S., you can get...
