Slight Popping in my Beyers
I dont know if anyone has experienced this problem, but i have owned my pair of Beyer 250-80s for aobut 2 months now, and until about a week ago have had no problems with them. Recently i have started to notice a seldom popping sound in the right ear. Has anyone experienced a problem like this...- WillSmoke

meta42 question(s)
Ive built several basic amps (one of which was a standard cmoy) and will soon be making, or attempting to make, a meta42. I was looking at tangent's website, and noticed that an "all out meta42" can be purchased with crossfeed. My question is, when building your own meta42, how do you work...- WillSmoke

Headphones on Tech Tv
I was watching The Screen Savers today (a regular show on Tech Tv) and it seems as though they are starting a headphone section. Today, they went through building your own headphone amp, while managing to plug headroom, grado, and etymotics. Just wanted to let people know to tune in, i think if...- WillSmoke

RHCP, sound like 32kbit mp3?
32 kbit may be exagerating, but has anyone noticed the extremely poor sound quality on Red Hot Chili Peppers' later ablums. Could this be a problem with my headphones... the sound is bad on my beyer 250-80s, and only slightly improved on my amplified ety4s. Just a basic description of the... -
Er 4s
I use the Ety 4s with a headroom TAH and they work great for my portable setup. Ive heard that the porta actually makes a better combo, so i would say they should be a good match.- WillSmoke

headphones equivelant to klipsch speakers
I know it seems like you already made your decision, but just wanted to let you know my 80s just came, and ive been testing them for about 2 hours now. i must say, im quite pleased. If you are using the computer as the source, amp or no amp, i dont think you can do alot better than the 80s...- WillSmoke

headphones equivelant to klipsch speakers
I can use them with an amp, but my intentions for the 250-80's were to use them straight out of computer, as was the main reason i chose the 80s, an easy phone to drive. I can do a comparison between amp/no amp use also if you would like.- WillSmoke

headphones equivelant to klipsch speakers
I just purchased a pair of beyer 250-80s to replace my klipsch 5.1 speakers. I didnt want to lug the klipsch's to my dorm so i decided to keep them setup at my home. I will let u know how good of a job they do in a few days, i should have by friday.- WillSmoke

Best Headphone/amp combo no price
There still really isnt a budget, but my focus has changed as ive been reading the responses from my initial post. Im no longer in search of the best Home setup, but moreso in search of a great portable setup and something for computer use. I was considering Beyer 250-80's because ive heard they...- WillSmoke

Best Headphone/amp combo no price
I think im gonna get a pair of Beyer250-80's for my computer and no-amp use. And as opposed to going with a living room-esque sit and relax headphone, i think im going to go portable (i own a new powerbook and an ipod. when i mean "portable", i mean having a stationary setup in several different...- WillSmoke

For the computer im not going to be using an amp. Would it be better to go with say Beyer 280-50's instead of the HD 600s?- WillSmoke

Best Headphone/amp combo no price
Well i think i have narrowed it down for the moment. Either setup 1:Ety4s, corda, and HD 600's, or setup 2: Grado RS 1's, and a Grado RA1. If anyone has an opinion on which would be the better choice, i would like to hear it. Also, any adaptation or adition advice would be appreciated (within...- WillSmoke

Best Headphone/amp combo no price
This may sound like a noob question, but ive been following this board for a few months now and have read alot of different opinions from alot of different people about alot of different setups. I am looking to compile, if not build upon, my audio setup, which at the moment is headphone-less. I...- WillSmoke
