    Lead Audio LA-200 : I need you !

I'm quite a bit late to this thread, but maybe this will be helpful! (Just came across the thread when looking at posts for LA-200's!)

BTG-Audio Cable Impressions, Reviews and Discussion | Sunrise, Starlight & FitEar

Brian modified my ancient Westone UM2 IEM's to use removable 2-pin cables. Very clean job, and I got them back within about a week of dropping them off (shipped out in less then a week)! I would certainly contact and recommend him for any other cable-related jobs in the future. :ksc75smile...

USB DAC/amp for headphones + speakers

So far so good. I think that the bass might be less detailed than with the DR.DAC2, but that could just be my imagination; I didn't test them back-to-back. Honestly, it's good enough for me, and I'm not going to bother comparing it to a few other setups to figure out if there was a marginal...

REVIEW: Lead Audio LA-200 DAC/headphone amp/speaker amp (a HeadFi Exclusive!)

I received my LA-200 over the weekend and hooked it up to my W1000X's and my new B&W 685 speakers. All good so far. I'm surprised that I have to turn up the volume as much as I do for the headphones, since they're so low impedance, but it doesn't hurt anything.

USB DAC/amp for headphones + speakers

I seem to have finalized my computer setup over the weekend, actually: Lead Audio LA-200 B&W 685 speakers ATH-W1000X headphones Everything sounds good so far, and I'm very pleased to have a simplified setup that doesn't require turning on 2 or more things to get my music going, or to...

REVIEW: Lead Audio LA-200 DAC/headphone amp/speaker amp (a HeadFi Exclusive!)

Thanks for getting back to me about the W1000's! I think I'll give the LA-200 a go. Most likely, the DAC + headphone amp part of it is not going to be any worse than the DR.DAC2 (and probably better). As you mention in the review, there really aren't a lot of direct competitors to the LA-200...

USB DAC/amp for headphones + speakers

I'm a little surprised that such devices aren't more popular, now that standard headphone DAC/amps are so mainstream. :) What I want: USB DAC 1/4" headphone out 2x powered speaker out (not necessarily too powerful, but would be nice to have something that could drive floorstanding...

REVIEW: Lead Audio LA-200 DAC/headphone amp/speaker amp (a HeadFi Exclusive!)

Thanks for the review! I'm looking for something like this, actually. How would you say your AT W1000's sound with the LA-200? You mention the headphones and have them pictured, but I don't think you mention how they sound. :D My issue is that I am switching away from a hybrid tube amp, which...

DIY'er wanted: repair Dynalo, put in DAC

I've got a MisterX Dynalo that I haven't bothered fixing... See THIS thread about the problem. I have a feeling that it's something very, very simple... My latest intuition is that it could be overheating-related (since the distortion becomes more apparent after a while of using the amp, and the...

    distortion with MisterX Dynalo

I have a strange distortion problem with my MisterX Dynalo amp. I noticed fairly recently that I get distortion on the left side of my headphones after using the amp. I actually thought that it was a DAC problem, but apparently not. Now, what's interesting - I get the noise in the left side...

Noise in left channel: Problem with DAC? Interference?

Quick update for now - looks like it's actually an amp issue, after all. I'll investigate further...

Noise in left channel: Problem with DAC? Interference?

I've recently noticed that I get very annoying distortion on the left side of my headphones... This is a relatively new development, but I don't know how and exactly when it started or what actions I took that could have triggered it. My setup: PC USB --> Keces 151 DAC --> MisterX Dynalo...

What about the slightly more expensive Sound Magics, like PL-30? Worth looking into?

where to get X3i's... or look for alternatives?

Recently, I decided that I want a pair of cheapish in-ear phones to use at the gym and whatnot, rather than risk getting my Westone UM2's ruined by sweat, and I gave my trusty ol' Crossroads X3's away to my brother. I decided to get Crossroads X3i's... But the only place I found one pair of...

Time for a new set of headphones.

I second the HD25-1 as my #1 recommendation. You should probably scratch the HD280's off of your list if your budget is up to $200.... You can find plenty of better headphones for that much money. To give you a few other options: Audio-Technica ATH-A900 Audio-Technica ATH-ES7...

I hate not being able to make a decision... (GS1k vs. HD650)

IMO, Grados are and have always been a bad value for the money, once we start talking about models that are higher-end than SR80. I have not heard the GS1000, but you should really consider the price range... If you were to go with used headphones, especially, then the differences in price...

    K500 driver replacement questions

QQQ, that last number does mean that they're different drivers. The one with the 6 matches the K601 and the 7 matches the K701. It's just up to how many different service documents they have for their series (e.g., the one available for the K500 is one that's for K400/401/500/501, while the K240...

    Any Comments to K702s

My personal preference for color was probably the K701. They're more unique, if anything. Oh, and they came with a little stand, whereas the K702's did not. Worth upgrading? I highly doubt it.

    Can't Decide: AKG K701 or Grado SR325i

I always thought that the K701's are not as ridiculously hard to drive as people say. Based on your music choices, I think that the AKG's would be a better choice. For example, I think that rap and trance would be awful on Grados and more neutral on the K701's. If there are Grado fans who...

closed unamped headphone for gaming < $300

You can probably do a bit better for the budget, but Audio-Technica A900's should fit the bill nicely, despite your unexplained objections. The main thing in their favor is that they are very easy to drive. With most other headphones in this class, including the DT770/80's, a lot, if not most...

    Leather Replacement Pads for MS-1s

    K500 driver replacement questions

I knowingly got a pair of K500's that have a small distortion problem on the left driver. I then got a working driver from another head-fi member. Today, I took the left side of my K500 apart, only to realize that the drivers are slightly different (same size and whatnot, but some very...
