I'm using the Peak with a Sylvania 6SN7GT.  It will be interesting to hear how it sounds with the HD800.

I'll have a similar number of HD tracks, as well.  I'll put these on a 64gb USB3 -- always best to hear familiar music on other gear.  Might be worth putting the same tunes on multiple USBs for AB testing.  This could be a lot of fun.  -- John

Thinking about making the drive up from Upstate South Carolina.  Any one else going from the Upstate?  I could bring my LCD3 and Apex Peak and Volcano.   Also have a Bifrost, Butte and HP-A3.

I'm in the Upstate and plan to make the Charlotte meet.  And I'd be interested in one in South Carolina, as well.  Columbia would be convenient.

I believe most of these meets center around local vendors.  I wonder if we have any in the state?

I realize this may be a little controversial, but as much as I love my LCD3, I struggle with the headphone experience.  The sound is absolutely glorious, but the phones had gone largely unused in favor of speakers.  I find myself listening to my Synchrony Ones.

I bought an Apex Butte and an HP-a3 for my LCD 3 for using on the road, and they are both very good.  The HP-a3 has async USB and uses USB power, which makes it extremely portable.  My primary rig is the Apex Peak plus Volcano, and the smaller guys are no match, of course.  But the smaller amps...

Like the speed breaks in neighborhoods, this would be OK if it didn't apply to me.  Or, at least after certain hours of the morning.  

This thread certainly is going to pop up for anyone using Google to research the brand and model.

This hurts everyone.  Cyber crime absolutely can drive the small entrepreneur under, short-circuit cottage innovation and, ultimately, drive product beyond the reach of most of us.  Outrageous that it takes months to get images to the Torrance police.  Time to get serious about cyber crime.
