Plugging my V-80s into the headphone jack on my laptop sounds worse than my ipod. looking for a relatively inexpensive way to upgrade the sound. I've seen USB soundcards and the PCMCIA ones. I wouldn't mind also upgrading the ipod sound quality with a DAC or amp or whatever but i'm new to these...

I'm looking to upgrade my laptop's audio out for headphones. Either PCMCIA or USB. Any advice?
