Doh. I realy don't want to buy another pair of headphones.

How many hours is good? The 280s have low bass, but overall the bass isn't loud enough. The thump is missing.

On that note: How much tack do I need to put in? I have about 1mm of it around the inner ring. Do I also need the tack around the outer ring?

Ok. What do you guys think about them, compared to HD201 and HD280 Pro? I have both, but my hearing senses suck!

I bought these about 3 years ago from Compusa.

What's a cheap (not neccessarily portable) amp that I can boost the bass sound in my HD280?

Also, what do budget amps cost? I basically listen to music via my computer sound card or my Rio Nitrus.

If I can sell these, and buy the cheaper 201s, won't my bass problems be solved? I understand I'll sacrifice some quality.

The bass will get louder after burn-in?

Is it unreasonable to expect hard thumping bass from headphones? I'm still interested in exploring alternatives that offer more bass.

Also, when I listen to the either my Rio Nitrus or off my SB Live sound card, I can't turn the volume very high or else I get alot of distortion.

Hi, I just got the HD280 pro today. I am really disappointed in the amount of bass it can produce. I even did the tack mod, and it didn't help that much. I'm looking for another pair of headphones with a lot more bass. I am also on a tight budget. Do the HD201s have more bass?
