Creative Sound blaster E5 - Headphone amp + USB DAC with OTG + Toslink + aptX + recording + more.

I'm afraid I don't know what that means effectively. But as long as I like the sound I probably shouldn't worry too much ;)

Creative Sound blaster E5 - Headphone amp + USB DAC with OTG + Toslink + aptX + recording + more.

I ended up turning the BT down in the mixer til 2 notches above silence, now it's quite usable. Still weird how it worked differently before. I remember reading somewhere to always have software volume at 100% (for PCs), which I get, but I'm unsure how this works here. Is the mixer applied...

Creative Sound blaster E5 - Headphone amp + USB DAC with OTG + Toslink + aptX + recording + more.

Using the equalizer could work, I guess... That's how I thought it worked with Bluetooth, too. Until recently xD *sighs* Oh well, I'll deal somehow.

Meeeh. I'm 97% sure it worked almost like an analog volume control until a week or two ago :| It's silly. Everything above 20% is loud enough to destroy my ears, anyway! So I have maybe 4 steps between "silent" and "pain"! This sucks!

Creative Sound blaster E5 - Headphone amp + USB DAC with OTG + Toslink + aptX + recording + more.

So I've had my E5 for a while now, and I'm pretty sure I was always able to regulate the volume in very fine steps with the wheel on it. But recently it seems to jump between discrete volume values, which is really annoying, because it's often either too loud or too quiet! (I only use it over BT...

Creative Sound blaster E5 - Headphone amp + USB DAC with OTG + Toslink + aptX + recording + more.

No kidding! It sounds so much better than my phone's headphone jack, even over bluetooth!

Huh. I guess that makes sense, in a twisted way. This is my first Sound Blaster since the Windows XP days, I think

Creative Sound blaster E5 - Headphone amp + USB DAC with OTG + Toslink + aptX + recording + more.

I just got the E5 and it's very noisy. I can hear the noise even over the music on my V-Moda M100s. No matter if I use USB or Bluetooth. Is there some known fix for this, or am I gonna have to send it back? And if I send it back, are they all so noisy or did I get a bad one and a replacement E5...

For Bluetooth use: Creative SB E3 or E5? Or something else entirely?

I'm thinking of buying a Creative Sound Blaster E3 for portable use. Since cables tend to die very quickly in my pockets, I'm planning to use Bluetooth pretty much exclusively. Right now I'm using V-Moda M100s as my main portable headphones, but I have my eye (or ear?) on some IEMs, too. Would...

Recommend me a power supply for an O2

Hi!   I've bought an O2 and it because it come with an American PSU I bought a European one on ebay. Sadly it hums loudly ("loudly" compared to everything else in my room, which is essentially silent, I can't hear it over music playing).   So, I do what I should have done in the first...

Need new cables for my Sleek Audio CT6

Hi!   I bought a pair of Sleek Audio CT6 CIEMs a few years ago, and they are great! ... except for the cables, which broke after about a year. I bought one extra cable from them (for 25€!) and it was ****. It broke after a month!   So now I got these really quite amazing headphones and no...

Just in case anyone's wondering, I've decided to go with the NAD Viso HP50.

Looking for well-isolating headphone for <250€

I got an annual budget at work for "workplace improvement" and since the year is nearing it's end, and there's still 250€ left in the budget, I'm thinking of getting new cans.   Since they should block out my coworker's noise, I need them to isolate well, and since I'll wear them all day they...

    Sennheiser HD650 & Massdrop HD6XX Impressions Thread

Quote: It's not the bass (not all of it) that's lacking, it's just the sub-bass, the really deep frequencies. And I'm the one who noticed it, sadly, I can't blame anyone else ;)   But you are right, maybe I'll get over it. I won't be making any impulse buys, don't worry.   Unless...

    Sennheiser HD650 & Massdrop HD6XX Impressions Thread

Quote:   Well, I enjoy the mids and, until I heard the CAL!s recently (which I do not hold as a benchmark on anything, they just, um, opened my ears?), the bass. I thought them just perfect for blues, jazz and classic, and even though their highs aren't as forward as I'd like I often use...

    Sennheiser HD650 & Massdrop HD6XX Impressions Thread

Hiho!   I've had my HD650s for over a year now and I'm very happy with them.   Recently a friend asked me to recommend new headphones for <$100 to him and he went and bought one of my recommendations, the Creative Aurvana Lives. Of course I insisted on auditioning them. I found them to...

Alessandro Music Series MS1 FAN CLUB!

I really shy away from doing irreversible mods, even to the original earpads. I'll see that I buy some HD 414 earpads, than some day upgrade to a MS1000. And I'll put a pad on the headband, it's really rather hard.

Alessandro Music Series MS1 FAN CLUB!

I got my MS1i last week, and at first listen I was a bit disappointed, I didn't hear THE GUITARS or anything, they sounded a bit tinny really. I decided to give them a bit of burn-in, so today they passed the 100 hour mark and I took them out and tried them. First my "usual", acoustic rock...

    Sennheiser HD650 & Massdrop HD6XX Impressions Thread

I've had my HD650s for some time now and I absolutely love it. But. I recently got custom IEMs (Sleek Audio CT6) and they seem so much more detailed (and brighter, too, but that's not what I'm after primarily) than my 650s. So I was wondering, is that just the laid-back sound or is my Nuforce...

++ FULL-SIZE HEADPHONE RECOMMENDATIONS THREAD++ CLOSED: Please post a thread in the Introductions, Help and Advice forum

Quote: Like I said, I got a Nuforce Icon HDP, I don't have much knowledge or experience, but I'm sure I read somewhere it's sufficient to drive the HD650s... I wouldn't call them underwhelming, really, just not all that detailed. Details are what I want (for a second set of...

++ FULL-SIZE HEADPHONE RECOMMENDATIONS THREAD++ CLOSED: Please post a thread in the Introductions, Help and Advice forum

Hi!   I've had a HD 650 for some time now (my first "real" headphones) and recently acquired Sleek Audio CT6 custom IEMs, which are really revealing and detailed (as far as I can tell), which makes the HD 650s sound a bit veiled in comparison. They certainly don't have as much detail. I...

Best headphones for electronic music (trance, progressive)?

Quote:   I'm pretty much a noob but I had my HD 650 for some time now and I would not recommend them for electronic music. Their laid-back sound just... doesn't tickle the ears, if you know what I mean. Great for many types of music, but not for trance.   EDIT: Aaaand I totally...

Cowon J3 + Sennheiser MM 450. Sounds terrible, is that normal?

Longtime lurker, first time poster (I could have sworn I had an account...).   After replacing the cables on my Sennheiser HD 25-1 II for the fourth time in less than a year, and seeing the favorable video review of the MM 450, I decided I should try these wireless headphones. I was rather...
