    Dynalo (Rev.C) construction thread

while populating the Rev.C board some questions have been coming up to me. Since I haven't been able to find the answers by the documentation or by the search function I consider it a good idea to start a construction thread like the ones for PPA v2 and M³ 1) R67 = RLED and should be...

how to wire NF IC with 2 core strands

I got an NF IC cable with 2 isolated core strands and a shield, what options do I have and what are the advantages / tradeoffs ? First idea was to use one strand for signal, one strand for ground and connect the shield to ground on one end only. Or use both core strands for signal and the shield...

    equipment for AB testing amps

I want to make objective AB tests with different amps and configurations and wondered about the requirements for the equipment to switch amps The source shouldn't have any problems driving 2 or 3 amps in parallel, with 50k pots on the inputs of the amps the source should be able to drive them...

jfet cascode for classA bias on PPA

atm I'm using hand matched 2n5484 on Q1 and Q2 on my PPA, R10=1k and the pot is 2k. With the pot turned all the way down I get a maximum bias of 1.7mA +- 0.1mA on the channels. I'd like to try a higher bias, what do I have to alter at the cascode ? (picking jfets with higher IDSS I assume)...

    buffer temperature on PPA

tangent wrote on the PPA assembly guide: "... Then, touch the tops of the chips to see if they are getting warm. The buffers will get a bit warm to the touch, but they shouldn't be hot. The op-amps should be cool." The buffers on my PPA get that warm (or may I say hot) that I can bare the...

    dc offset from audio source

Unfortunately one of my audio sources (Creative Audigy 2 ZS) has a quite high dc offset (some tens of millivolts). With a gain of 10 in my headamps this would result in some hundred mV on the output of the amp. Therefore I got to use coupling capacitors in my amps. On my PIMETA i soldered...
