Sony NW-A40 Series NW-A45/A46/A47
The usual trick with this is to go through the following sequence: Go to the Home Screen Turn on the Hold button Press Left < Key 5 times Press Center > || Key 5 times Press Right > Key 5 times Hopefully this will reboot the device and play as normal.- jpgr

Bowers & Wilkins PX7 noise-cancelling over ear headphones
In case anyone is wondering: From B&W customer support - "We do not produce any headphones compatible with balanced connections. Only headphones designed with balanced cabling as their primary connection method will actually exploit this sonically."- jpgr

Sony Walkman custom firmware (non-Android)
"There’s actually normal and plus. Just that plus has 2 different versions. So technically it’s only 2 modes." Ok, technically only 2 modes. although Mr Walkman's site says - three boot modes: "Normal", "Plus v1", and "Plus v2" (find settings for these in the settings file); but three choices...- jpgr

Sony Walkman custom firmware (non-Android)
"And there’s also more than 2 sound signatures, so it wouldn’t be that practical either." There are currently three boot modes: "Normal", "Plus v1", and "Plus v2" and most people seem to cope ok with that. I just wanted to compare between two specific sound signatures. If it was possible, the...- jpgr

Sony Walkman custom firmware (non-Android)
I realise the hold switch can't have multiple functions which is why I wrote "instead of "Normal", "Plus v1", and "Plus v2". :relaxed: I was just asking if was possible to have a choice of signatures at boot i.e. hold up = "Neutral" hold down = "WM1Z" Obviously, in that case, "Normal", "Plus...- jpgr

Sony Walkman custom firmware (non-Android)
"It choses between normal and the plus mode you have indicated in the settings file" Yes, I realise this. :relaxed: I was wondering if the hold switch could be 'programmed' to choose between the sound signatures ("Neutral", "Warm", "Bright", and the "WM1Z") at boot up instead of "Normal", "Plus...- jpgr

Mr Walkman, thanks for all your hard work. Would it be possible to have the hold switch choose between two sound signatures instead of normal, plus1 and plus 2?- jpgr

Astell & Kern SR25: The next A&norma player
"Just the fact that most of my albums do show artwork means that the SR25 isn't having problems with those albums, but something is not quite right with the 170 albums, or so, that didn't display. I really do think I had a dud SR25, and that the replacement will work as it's supposed to." Have...- jpgr

"You mean one(same) leg of blue mlcc shouldn’t touch two legs of 470 cap simultaneously , correct?" If you are worried about the wires touching each other, you could always slip some insulation on them prior to soldering.- jpgr

It was left charging overnight so should be fully charged. Battery indicator shows 1% plugging into the mains shows 53%. Can't update to latest firmware unless the battery indicator shows at least 50%. Anyone any ideas?- jpgr

The tracks play from the start of the songs with the latest firmware. My unit installed the latest firmware as fast, if not quicker, than the previous firmwares - I've only ever loaded the iBasso firmwares, I don't know if that makes a difference.- jpgr

My Zs6 arrived yesterday and are currently in the process of being burnt in. I listened for an hour, with the large silicon tips, and didn't notice any treble spike. The supplied headphone lead is springy, tacky to touch and just weird. Upgrade cable on order but they don't sound bad for a...- jpgr
