    Amp recommendations for Audeze LCD-3

Quote:   You should look at the Audio-gd Reference 10.32. Its an awesome combo, especially when used with the 4-pin XLR out of the amp, it has plenty of gusto to drive the phones to their full potential.

They do indeed suck big time! I been having major issues with the TE8802 driver with my Reference 10.2, windows keeps crashing all the time! Luckily the USB receiver isn't integrated into the main board on the Ref 10.2 so I will get my unit upgraded to the USB 32 receiver module tomorrow...

Did you have any troubles with the TE8802 USB drivers? I been having constant crashing in Win 7 64bit. I am getting my unit upgraded to USB 32 receiver module tomorrow at my local dealer so I will see if its an improvement over TE8802 and hopefully it fixes the crashing!

They are brown and grey. I don't think there are other color options available as of yet.

The low end and mid is what makes the LCD-3s so damn great. But you need an amp with a bit of muscle to get sharp and accurate bass and the Audio-gd packs 6W into 50ohms so there no problems driving these to full potential. I got the Norse cable primarily for the 4-pin XLR output.

The first is actually in the text you quoted, Windows 7 64bit. I'm using it primarily to play flac or wav over JRiver MC 17.

I did have an issue with heat after doing 122 Windows updates in a row! :D (about an hour and a half of constant strain on CPU and HD) Had to cool it down with a frozen pea bag.. But running JRiver MC, or even Photoshop 5 it doesn't break a sweat.

Just a single bay in which I have a 250Gb SSD which is more than enough for the OS and few essential software. I have external 2Tb connected via USB 3.

It certainly does! I haven't tried many other amps with the LCDs but it was a clear winner (for me) over the Sugden HA-4, and Schiit Mjolnir.

    Audio-Gd Reference 10

Well I'm still waiting on a set of cables to use the 4pin XLR out, I haven't tried it yet. At the moment I'm using only the single end output and as far as I can hear it is very silent background on the 1/4inch.

Oh I'm not complaining about the sound at all, it is the best I've heard to date. Yea the wires were pretty much touching but I moved it away about 5-6mm and put a piece of rubber between them, yea I'm a little fastidious I guess. I messaged Kingwa about it and he gave me some details and said...

    Audio-Gd Reference 10

I have recently upgraded my setup to a Reference 10.2 to go with my LCD-3s and I must say the combination is amazing to listen to. There is certainly plenty of juice in this amp to drive the planar magnetic cans without a sweat. Like all toys I got since age 5 I tend to pull them apart to see...
