I hear you but since Sony grabbed my attention with *something new* around the corner, I was hoping to step a little higher and grab the new 1Z but was kind of disappointed to find out that Sony is sticking with Android on these new high-end devices. Now I'm in no hurry to retire my modded A55...

And I was considering to replace my A50 with the latest WM1Z series but since it's android based. I'll most likely stick to my A50 mrwalkman modded for a little longer.

The A50 sounds awesome on MK1 paired with my XBA-Z5 and I can't imagine something else to sound better than this. Sure, the WM1 might have a better build quality but is it worth the extra cost? For me personally, it isn't. But hey, if you have extra cash to spend on a DAP that's better build but...

I know the A50 is a great little dap but just out of curiosity, why do you need 2? Not that you could listen to both of them at the same time you know:slight_smile:

So it's not just me, the N3 does sound better! I did some a/b testing with both, the Z5 vs N3 using MrWalkman's DMP-50 and I notice more details on the N3. I even changed the original Z5 Sony tips with some aftermarket tips (JVC) and still, N3 sounds best for me. And by the way, I really like...

There should be a DMP-Z1 sound signature mod for the A30 just around the corner (whenever MrWalkman decides to relase it), which I'd say is worth waiting for. I have the A55 with the Z1 mod and it sounds incredible and I'm confident to hear that sound from my A35 too.

I'd be happy with MK1 for my old & trusty A30. My A30 would be perfect for my car stereo :sunglasses:

Interesting I never thought about changing the original tips of the Z5. I might give it a try and see if I notice a change. Thanks for suggestion.

The XBA-N3 sounds awesome paired with the A55 modded. Heck, it sounds even better than my XBA-Z5 which I found is less detailed to my ears compared to the N3.

I just updated my a55 with MrWalkman's DMP-A50 mod and I was hoping to get the 10 band eq like on the DMP-Z1. The update seemed to be successful. Am I missing something?

I use the Sony WF1000XM3 for outdoors and the Sony WFSP800N in the gym but both require Android for the equalizer to work (requires its own app). It would've been cool to be able to use the Walkman's EQ for these wireless devices.

Is there a way to "hack" the a30 to enable the equalizer for bluetooth connections? Can the zx300 firmware enable that?

A good way to check if the volume cap is still there, is to watch for the "check the volume level" warning which should appear after a few hours of continuous listening.

I didn't notice any electrical noise on my A55 listening to music while wall charging. The A105 shouldn't suffer from this either. Maybe you're using a bad charger?

Are you saying the EU NW-A100 can be uncapped by simply installing an update of a different region?

Where did you get this info from? AFAIK none of Xperia devices have a dedicated audio chip, let alone s-master. You can also tell by the sq. There's just something missing when you compare xperia to a dedicated dap,.

Never had the A25 but the A35 is cleaner sounding than my A15 which from what I've read, is the same as A25 in terms of sq. I have the 1A which I sometimes use indoors and vocals are more detailed on the A35 in comparison to the A15 paired with the same headphones.

Invest in some good quality IEMs. My xba-z5 pair well with the a30. Heck, even the h3 sounds great with this player.
