What Are You Listening To Right Now?
Really like this ! Have you listened to anything by Lone ? Not entirely similar but has that high energy chaotic electrónica vibe , particularly Galaxy Garden , which I thought of when I listened to this ! -
What Are You Listening To Right Now?
Working nights in the middle of a long , dark UK winter has got me searching for a hit of upbeat summer vibes.. -
Fatigued with current audio tech , I have gone back to 2007 simplicity ! ( a ramble)
Ohhh matey , i really appreciate the reply , after reading back my original post I thought it read a bit dismissive of the hobby which isn’t what I intended , I just got way too wrapped up into the tech and gizmos and marketing. I just need to go back to basics I think , to that time when it was...- DonCarr

Fatigued with current audio tech , I have gone back to 2007 simplicity ! ( a ramble)
Does anyone else feel frazzled by the current state of audio tech? I was thinking back 10-15 years ago when I used to record cassettes for the school bus run and was utterly content with my cheap no brand MP3 CD player and Limewire downloads, a couple of years later and I hit the pinnacle with...- DonCarr

The state of smartphones and the death of the headphone jack
Tried to embrace the wireless thing with my iPhone 8 , man what a ball ache. Another device to charge regardless of battery life of the phones. The only benefit of of wireless phones is when cooking and not getting snagged on things.- DonCarr

Current Gen iems with non fatiguing, warm sound signature ?
Hi all, I’ve been having a good google around for similar threads but can only find ones several years old and referencing long since discontinued iems . I am finding a lot of current headphones on offer to have really emphasised highs to the point of it being uncomfortable after a few songs ...- DonCarr

Keep Grado SR80 or upgrade?
I did exactly this - went from the SR-80e to 325e . Sound was extremely similar , not worth the additional cost what so ever . The 325e was extremely uncomfortable/actually quite painful to remove after no longer than 10 minutes or so. Regardless of how much I played about adjusting them . I...- DonCarr

Small speakers able to pack in suitcase ?
Mate thank you so much for the reply ! They look REALLY good ! I have been using a Denon Bluetooth speaker and it’s great for it’s size but it still just sounds like Bluetooth speaker if you know what I mean. These look like I would be able to get a proper , separated sound from them and they...- DonCarr

Does anyone still use MD or CD?
Just curious really , I am all about Tidal streaming nowadays but I miss the days of carefully curating playlists and burning CD’s or even cassettes prior . I think I do a lot more ‘flicking through’ music than I used to 10 years ago and a lot less actual listening if I am honest. Anyway I am...- DonCarr

Wi Fi interference on phone with Fiio Q1 Mk2
It’s strange when out into airplane mode the noise was continuing . The moment the wifi was disconnected via the toggle in the control centre the noise would immediately stop . This was the case on two different iPhone models for me , an SE and an 8. Fortunately the reflective card has...- DonCarr

Wi Fi interference on phone with Fiio Q1 Mk2
Ok in case anyone else experiences this , I’ve just found some shiny paper card , placed it between the amp and phone and it cuts it right out ! It’s like craft card with a reflective side . I’ve tested it plenty of times now , as soon as I remove the card the noise comes back.- DonCarr

Wi Fi interference on phone with Fiio Q1 Mk2
Ahh thank you for the reply ! I thought as much to be honest , it’s a bit frustrating as I use the WI FI to stream my source lol. Luckily I have some Velcro left so I might try and find something to act as a block between them that’s not too cumbersome . So I can lumber around a giant portable brick- DonCarr

Wi Fi interference on phone with Fiio Q1 Mk2
I am using a FiiO Q1 mk 2 velcroed to the back of my iPhone. If I have wi fi switched on I am plagued by static and buzzing . I have to move the device a good 3/4 inches away to steer clear of it . Is there any material ( maybe foil or something) that could sit between the two ? To shield the...- DonCarr
