I have both and spent quite a bit of time comparing both and the Sony X1000 still wins hands down for SQ.  Iphone 4 sounds pretty good, quite surprised, but X1000 still wins.    Much better bass, not so harsh highs and better overall sound depth.

I bought a set of UE Super FI4 and they sound great and very happy but now im reading so many users having theirs break or wires come apart.  So im wondering if i were to wrap heavy duty electrical tape all along the entire wire will that help and protect the stock wiring?  Has anyone done this?
