The Hardest hitting Headphones are.. ( "The EXTREME BASS Club")
Wow I don't think I've logged in to this site in over 10 years. Scary how quickly we lose track of time.. and how old I'm getting. From being a young adult to now edging closer to midlife. Anyway, I need some help. I'm after some bassy headphones after using some rather boring 598s for the past...- Cid

Whats up with people and cats on this site?
Cats ARE disgusting, at least my neighbours, but she's also disgusting. I live in a flat, so we have a shared hall way and I've seen the cat bring in dead mice and leave them on the stairs, it's also crap on the stairs on a few occasions. The neighbour also leaves the bowls of cat food out in...- Cid

Good, UK based speaker company?
I've been itching to buy a new pair of speakers, and I want to see what's out there, but at the same time it's important that it's a UK based company. For many reasons, mostly my dislike from ordering from overseas though and the drastic differences in prices. (Not to mention customs here are...- Cid

Legal Question
Having been through a lot of mental abuse in the past... go talk to him as an equal. I'm sure he'd appreciate it, I know I wish someone took the time back then to talk to me. Just don't talk about the people calling him names, if he wants to talk about them, he'll talk to you. All it takes is a...- Cid

Help me chose between these sound cards
Awesome! I'm actually surprised by the amount of scots on here. :D How hard is it to rewire? is it something even a novice could do with a simple guide? Unrelated, but I seem to have picked up some sort of summer cold, it's not very nice.- Cid

Help me chose between these sound cards
Also, if you're in the UK. Keep in mind it comes with a US power adapter and doesn't seem to be removable. (Not without a bit of know-how, anyway. Not something I could do)- Cid

Help me chose between these sound cards
Keep in mind that's subjective with no facts to back it up. Don't get me wrong, it might be, but you might find an equal amount of people who think the ST sounds better than the musiland. It's not really a reliable way to make a purchase. IMO.- Cid

Upgrading from a Auzentech Prelude. music the only concern.
I liked the look of the dacmagic, since it's also UK based, but I can't comment on how good it is. Just something I was looking into!- Cid

buying a new sound card today: advice?
I've looked at many cards in that price range and I can safely say, without a doubt. You won't find a better card than the essence ST. Honestly, I challenge anyone to find one. Even with the stock opamps it's delicious. The onkyo cards do look good, but they seem a fair bit more expensive and...- Cid

Another "help me choose a DAC!" thread!
There is a lot of proof, but keep in mind this was several years ago, you would need to search pretty deep to find it. He also offered me a discount when I emailed him about the MKIII back in 2007 if I made a positive review on head-fi.- Cid

If you really want a noticeable difference, you need to move away from sigma delta DACs and this is about the cheapest that isn't sigma-delta that you'll find. http://www.audio-gd.com/Pro/dac/DAC19/DAC19EN.htm- Cid

If you ask me, no. I think you would need to spend a lot more to get an improvement over your Auzentech. Which Auzentech do you have?- Cid

Another "help me choose a DAC!" thread!
Nuforce Udac: Considering the price, not terrible, but you could do better. It's built for size, not quality IMO. MF V-Dac: Was considering this one myself. Measures OK, but you'll still find the Xonar Essence ST measures better. HRT Music Streamer II: I'm sorry I haven't read much about...- Cid

Those look fantastic. I wonder how much better they would be than my Technics or JPW speakers, shame I can't listen to them. :(- Cid

How much do I need to spend on a DAC?
Honestly? unlikely. However, non sigma-delta DACs are meant to be a LOT better, but we all know how that old tune goes. If you have the oppertunity to try the DAC out for a period of time, I think that would be your best bet. Because £1000 is a lot of money.- Cid

Musiland 02 US
I was considering buying one of these little DACs. Originally I was thinking about the audio-gd FUN, but the shipping to the UK is just ridiculous and the sparrow doesn't have RCA outs. So, I had a look on ebay and noticed these little boxes are very cheap and have free shipping. Now my...- Cid
