    Chord Mojo(1) DAC-amp ☆★►FAQ in 3rd post!◄★☆

My original mojo is acting up. The battery has been bad. It would just drain if I left the unit off for a few days, but it was still charging normally. Now, it will not charge if I do not turn the unit on, and it does not seems like the battery is storing any charges while doing that. Once I...

iFi iDSD Micro DSD512 / PCM768 DAC and Headphone Amp. Impressions, Reviews and Comments.

Hi. I need a clarification on firmware 5.3c on the silver iDSD. With the upgrade, the iDSD will only have and use GTO filter, so it does not matter which filter you are selecting, correct?

Competition Closed...but what is in the Retro – Stereo 50?

I just want to give everyone information about the Retro 50 and the new Gibbs Transient Optimised filter in firmware 5.3c. If you have not been following the forum, basically it is a kind of internal upsampling filter. You can read all about it in their tech doc. Although upsampling might sound...

    Chord Mojo(1) DAC-amp ☆★►FAQ in 3rd post!◄★☆

@OK-Guy @Mojo ideas I am being tossed around between Chord UK support, dealers and Chord US distributor (Blue Bird Music) with no success in obtaining Mojo battery for self-replacement. The dealer (George Meyer AV) wants me to ship the unit to them and charge $165 for the replacement. Chord UK...

    Chord Mojo(1) DAC-amp ☆★►FAQ in 3rd post!◄★☆

Thank you very much for the link. I will buy this if I cannot get one from Chord US distributor (Chord UK is helping me on this, so I will follow along for now). Is there a proper way to check if the problem is on the battery or the charging circuit, without replacing the battery first?

    Chord Mojo(1) DAC-amp ☆★►FAQ in 3rd post!◄★☆

Hi All, My Mojo battery drains quickly and takes a long time to charge. Chord suggested that I contact George Meyer AV, and I got a $165 flat-rate quote for inspection and repair, including parts and labor. This seems a little high. I remember someone in the forum mentioned that Chord reduced...

Competition Closed...but what is in the Retro – Stereo 50?

    1. Yes. Linux USB audio driver is as good as PC or mac. Most audio streamer boxes are Linux based in fact. 2. I connect my Retro 50 USB input to the USB output from my monitor which act as a hub. It does affect the sound quality a bit, but that will depend on how much jitter your USB hub added...

Current Specs? Maybe @iFi audio can clarify on this. I never heard of different specs of the Retro 50.

Congrats! iFi always have very good service. Did they say what cause the problem on you unit? I had popping on the right channel again this past weekend. Luckily I still have replacement tubes that they sent to me under a warranty awhile ago, so I replaced one of the tube, and that fixed the...

EL84Xs. I also replaced the ECF82 tubes and actually found that those were what caused the pops. The new EL84X did lower the noise floor.

Mine unit has always have some pops and clicks in the first 10-15 minutes after it turns on. The pops disappear once the tubes are completely warmed up. It used to have a non-regular pop and click sound mid song, but the problem was solved by replacing a whole set of tubes.

    Chord Mojo(1) DAC-amp ☆★►FAQ in 3rd post!◄★☆

Make sure you enable exclusive access mode on the Mojo from inside Tidal. Else, you would be streaming unfolded 24bit/48kHz MQA stream that got upsmapled by your PC/Mac to the DAC sampling rate that you picked.

iFi Audio Pro iDSD discussion thread

^ That I completely agree. Based on my one day experience with Tidal Master streaming, I found that the unfolded MQA stream playing through the Retro 50 sound far less superior than the Hi-Res FLAC counterpart. But now you are running into a question of whether the two formats come from the same...

iFi Audio Pro iDSD discussion thread

My understanding is that Tidal software decoding only "unfold" MQA stream (24bit/48kHz) to higher sampling rate (the current Tidal decoding seem to limit the maximum unfolded sampling rate at 96kHz). MQA promise the correction for timing and quantisation errors in the ADC when the song was...

Quoting my own post to this forum.   Quote:   The Poly price point would be more justified if Chord includes an output "dongle" that will let you connect the Poly with other DACs that are not Mojo.

Chord Electronics - CES Launch Extravaganza

Consider that the Sonore microRendu is 640 USD without a power supply, the poly price point is not bad if it performs as well. From my perspective, the Poly does just what the microRendu does, a purposely-built audiophile network transport -- but on the go.

Yes. If AudioQuest can patch Dragon Fly firmware to enable MQA decoding and de-blurring, you can do it iFi!

New Audio Technica Woodies: ATH-W1000Z announced

I got W1000Z today, and I can say that I like them a lot more than TH-X00 just after a few hours of listening. They do not sound as clean and as extended on both the high and the low as the TH-X00 but the warmness is great. They are definitely warmer than A900X but not lush like Grado...

Thanks  Thanks for the suggestion again. I have been in contact with AT Japan, and they are very helpful indeed. One question. How did you pay for your repair when you sent yours? They told me that the only payment option is bank transfer.

I have been contemplating on getting the unbalanced version replacement cable from Null Audio too to use with Chord Mojo too. Do you think the improvement that you hear are more from the cable or from the balanced driving?
