HELP! Metal flakes stuck on drivers

Thanks for the reply. I was able to get a lot of the metal flakes out of the driver. When I put the driver back in and tested it, it still sounds much quieter than the other driver and only has high treble sounds. Could this problem be caused by something else besides the metal flakes? I...

HELP! Metal flakes stuck on drivers

I am modding a pair of Sennheiser HD265 headphones and somehow tiny metal flakes got sucked up on the magnet of one of the drivers. Unfortunately, the driver seems extremely fragile and if I use any metal tools it could damage the driver. Is there a way to get the metal flakes off the driver...

Ear pads that will fit my Sennheiser HD 265?

Hello. I am trying to replace my ear pads on my Sennheiser HD 265s but Sennheiser no longer makes them.  Are there replacement ear pads that are still made (maybe from a different sennheiser model) that would also fit my headphones?

Should i use usb or spdif coax with my DAC/Amp?

I finally bought a DAC/amp for my cans. Its a AUNE HIFIDIY.NET MK2 USB DAC/amp. It has both a USB and spdif coax digital in. My notebook has a spdif coax out, so I could use that or the usb. Which kind of cable should I use: usb or spdif coax? Is there a difference in sound quality? I want to...

Improves SQ more: Better DAC or Amp power?

I am looking for a DAC with a built-in amp, to power my Sennheiser HD265 (150ohm) from my Laptop. I want to improve my SQ and I have kinda narrowed my choices down to is: Hifiman EF2($185) or iBasso D10 Cobra($275). What I have read about the EF2 from HeadphoneAddict is it has a high power...

Improving Sound Quality from a PC

The only problem i can see with the Bithead is that it only runs on batteries and not AC. Sometimes I listen to my cans while im falling asleep and if I fell asleep while the musics playing the amp would be on all night and would waste batteries.

Improving Sound Quality from a PC

Thanks again everyone. Wow! I guess there are a lot of options out there. I'm a little overwhelmed. Those Hotaudios look good, though the amp seems a little weak. They probably would be strong enough for my 265HDs but I would like someday to upgrade my cans and they probably would have...

Improving Sound Quality from a PC

Thanks everyone. It's not that i have a small wallet, it just I need to pay back student loans (eventually). Covenant, I didn't realize that about AV receivers with USB inputs. Glad I didn't waste money on one. Which has a stronger headphone output, the Total Bithead or Emu 0404?

Improving Sound Quality from a PC

I am looking to improve the sound quality coming from my computer to my headphones (Sennheiser HD265 100 ohms). Two options I am looking into: 1. Bithead from headphone.com. Has USB connection and is powered by batteries. 2. JVC RXD301S AV Receiver. Also has USB connection. Is the USB...

    Cans like Sennheiser HD 265?

Thanks for the quick reply. I didn't even think of check to see if they had replacement pads and headband because those cans are so old and discontinued. Pretty expensive parts though. 81 bucks for the pads and headband together. For about 20 bucks more I could get the AudioTechnica...

    Cans like Sennheiser HD 265?

Hi everybody! This is my first post as you can see. Anyways, I had a pair of Sennheiser hd 265 and I loved them. They sounded awesome and where so comfortable I could easily sleep with them on (even with my head pushing one side of the cans down on the pillow). I have used them so much the...
