DIY suggestions amp DAC
ya it seems that there is a lot that can go wrong with buying all the parts up and assembling. I have mulled over the headwize forum and it seems very time consuming and worrisome building amps and DACs. Plus I am going to be a full time student and I think I will go for a combo Amp/DAC for now...- slbowing

DIY suggestions amp DAC
I need an amp and DAC. My budget is about $300 and building it should not be an issue. I have seen some kits by amb, L'espressivo, and Bijou. Twisted Pear has some kits for DAC also. What are some recommendations/what have other people built and enjoyed.- slbowing

lady gaga headphones :o
Well the fact the Lady Gaga has to use auto-tune to get her voice to sound what she and others think is good "good" and sell says it all. I'd like to take a disco stick and beat some real sound into her head.- slbowing

Tube vs Solid, Seperate DAC or combo
Yes the DIY route opens up a lot of new possibilities. It is a major plus that my brother is getting his masters right now in analog signaling and had made amplifiers in the lab before . I thought I had a lot of options before but this opens up a whole new realm. The only problem is that I...- slbowing

Best DAC/Amp Combo?
I find my self with this dilemma as well. I am a student and thus I dont have a ton of money to spend and my source unit will be my laptop, thus I need a DAC and amp. For around 300 there is the Beresford and Audio-gd Compass. Many people on this forum love the Compass and apparently the price...- slbowing

Need to power some Pro 750's
I have a HP HDX16t laptop so I need something external. Plus I wanted and Amp/DAC so that with multiple inputs so that if and when I get another source I could use the device as an amo solely. Need to power some Pro 750's
I just got some Ultrasone Pro 750's and now I need an amp. My main source unit will be my laptop so I need a DAC/amp. I have about $300 to spend. Many people have bumped the Compass, Zero, iBasso D10, and Bresford. What is everyone's opinion? A multi input (rca/usb/optical) would be preferred.- slbowing
