I once had a pair of Sennheiser CX500s that were dead in one ear   Accidentally put them in the wash, and after that they worked perfectly for months

couldn't be bothered looking around any more, ordered some CX870s from Amazon (direct)   Gonna keep checking though so I'll probably go for some Turbines or maybe even the IE8s if I see some good offers!   thanks for posting everyone

hi, sorry to keep bumping this thread, but I've been reading bad reviews about the CX880s, so looks like I'll be going for the Monster Turbines. Is the site I posted above the best site to get genuine Monster earphones in the UK?   thanks

okay, thanks again for all of the replies   going by what's been said, it's between the CX880s and the Monster Turbines   I like the look of the CX880s, the Turbines little round ear buds look like they could be uncomfortable, and I've read that a lot of people find them uncomfortable...

ahh, you've thrown another pair of earphones into the mix now they have them for £35 in Tesco too   and I just downloaded PowerAMP music player for my phone which has an EQ built-in (pretty good one too, even though it was tested with my broken CX400s lol)

okay, little update (and bump to first page)   it's now between Sennheiser CX880, Monster Turbines and Head-Direct RE0s...   leaning towards the RE0s, but supposedly the Turbines have better bass (but not sure how much). I'd like to stay with Sennheiser though, plus they look the best...

Same as the title basically   I know you're supposed to wear them over your ear, but I don't like that. How are they being warn as normal earphones? Is the curve bit part of the earphones or can it be removed?   Also, where is the cheapest genuine place to get them in the UK?   Thanks

Tonight I finally remembered to put my old CX500s in the wash, and incredibly...they're now working fine as well   At first they were the same (quiet in the right-ear) so I thought "oh well, as long as I haven't broken them", but I just noticed the jack wasn't in 100% and they're working...

Yeah, cleaning them makes more sense than knocking a wire into place, haha   Still working after 24 hours. think I will try with my CX500s.

So, I have some Sennheiser CX400 II Precisions, and the right earpiece died (as have the last 3 or 4 pairs I had)   I spoke to Play.com who said to return them and they would refund the money.   Anyway, I accidentally left them in the pocket of my jeans, so they've just been washed...
