Woo Audio Amp Owner Unite
Hey all, my rectifier seems to me emitting a high pitched ringing sound (seems to be vibrating?). Is there a way to stop that from happening? Seems to do it louder with the fat 6FD7s. Also is the 6DN7 upgrade worth looking into? Cheers!- rayk

New Beyer DT1350
Quote: I wouldn't go that far to say that the DT1350 are in a different league, certainly they sound good - but so do the ESW9 (I have both). I'd say the ESW9s are more musical sounding out of the two, even though the DT1350 does sound "technically" better. I can see the the ESW9s...- rayk

New Beyer DT1350
Quick impressions: Sound quite nice, neutral sig with a good tight bass and highs. Fit is quite good for small head/ears - I can get the right position quite easy and the clamping isn't too tight, though ESW9s still are the kings comfort wise. They isolate pretty well too. Much...- rayk

Is there a comparison to ESW9s somewhere? Also a comparison to DT250s would be quite nice. Currently on the fence after the let down that the T50p's were. Cheers.- rayk

REVIEW: Meier Audio Concerto headphone amp
Yeah my source is pretty standard 2.25vrms, voltage switch is correct for AUS. Using the SPL meter with the pot set around 11/12 o'clock it's pushing about 80dB which is pretty different to the impression I've been told with RS2 only getting loud around 3/4 of the pot. The usual volume I...- rayk

Well I have the MSpros which are probably the more tamer grados around. I'll try a proper test including the ESW9s and a SPL meter.- rayk

REVIEW: Meier Audio Concerto headphone amp
I have opened mine up and all the jumpers are sitting in place, so it is sitting in lowest gain setting. Hmm well that sound pretty similar to what I have, which is kinda a bummer - I've been spoiled with the amazing volume control on my pico slim, so I was hoping the Concerto would be similar...- rayk

REVIEW: Meier Audio Concerto headphone amp
Are you inferring that it would be very loud? I'd be happy with being able to at least use the range till 12 o'clock, right now I can't even get to 9.... Well going to chase up to see if I can get my unit replaced. Quote:- rayk

REVIEW: Meier Audio Concerto headphone amp
Thanks, that is what I was looking for. Having a browse through the thread I see that the low gain is pretty close to unity gain? The other thing which I couldn't find in the manual is volume LED - is each position marked by it lighting up? What about position between the LED being lit up?- rayk

REVIEW: Meier Audio Concerto headphone amp
How much range do people get on the volume with low impedance phones with this amp set to low gain (such as Grado etc). The unit I have seems to only give me about 3 steps of control before it gets far too loud.- rayk

Recommended small-size Desktop Amp around 400 dollars?
Hybrid MiniMAX and CKKIII are both less than that price point, have a small footprint and perform/sound quite awesome. M3/PPAv2 with a wallwart is also a good alternative. You aren't going to find any other amps that will match them at that price bracket.- rayk

Intermittent buzz/static on Win7 with HRT MSII+
Ok I must be the only person to experience this issue, BUT the way to fix is.... Go into sound devices in control panel, select the music streamer and hit properties. Under Advance make sure 24 bit, 44100 Hz is selected. Mine was set to 24 bit, 96000 Hz which was stuffing youtube.- rayk

New Millett Hybrid MiniMAX (what happened to this thread?)
Turns out ("snicker") I had o turn the trimmers counter clock wise. Got them around 13.5V, powersupply at 27V and DBs running at around 109mV. Posted the finished build in the other thread - http://www.head-fi.org/forum/thread/85561/post-pics-of-your-builds/7320#post_6975938 Thank...- rayk

New Millett Hybrid MiniMAX (what happened to this thread?)
Yep the tubes get warm and light up. I think I'm about 25 turns or so, so I will try checking the trimmers tonight. Haven't tested the amp for sound yet either - I think it was on for a total of 30minutes, so not sure if the tubes are still breaking in (first time dealing with a tube amp) ...- rayk
