Advice on IEMs for use in airplane, comfortable and good bass (Here we go again) UPDATE:- Final Verdict = Shure SE530
If you end up going with the Turbines, you're probably gonna want to pick up some different tips. I found the ones they came with to be quite uncomfortable and not the best for isolation. Supposedly the Comply foam tips will do the trick, but I don't own them so take that for what it's worth...- rytheguy

You may want to look into the Nuforce NE-7M's too ($49). On that list though I like the CX55s.- rytheguy

help: is my sennheiser mx70 are fake?
I can't comment on the legitimacy of these, but I would like to point out that in most cases you get what you pay for. Perhaps your expectations were a bit too high? If you are looking for buds with better bass in that price range though, you should consider the V-moda Bass Freq. Hope this helps.- rytheguy

Gel Tips
Thanks for the heads up SJ. I guess I'll just have to get the Sony hybrids then, unless a Klipsch rep can provide specifics.- rytheguy

Monster Turbine Appreciation Thread
I don't know if this is the best place to be asking about which IEM to get (you should probably start a new thread) but you might want to look into the Klipsch X5's as they are supposed to be very comfortable with excellent noise isolation. I personally do not find the Monsters to be comfortable...- rytheguy

Hmm, interestingly enough, the crackling sound made when I stood up too quickly has stopped after ~10 hours of burning them in. Could the burning in have anything to do with it? I am perplexed.- rytheguy

Need advice on a new pair of IEM's to purchase
I second the Turbines recommendation; look around and you'll see that almost everyone that owns a pair here has applauded their kick-ass bass. I'm burning mine in as we speak...- rytheguy

Noob needs some help upgrading :)
Thanks guys, the monster turbines were exactly what I was looking for. I went ahead and ordered a pair today. I'll post my thoughts in the appropriate forum and can compare them to the Vibes (my room-mate has a working pair) if anybody wants, though I suspect very few people would be interested...- rytheguy

Noob needs some help upgrading :)
I'm sure most of you know your stuff much better than I do, so I would really appreciate some personalized advice. I previously owned a pair of V-moda Vibes and, while I liked them, the damn things just kept breaking. I even started to receive electric shocks in my ear before I finally...- rytheguy
