New Astell&Kern CA1000T impressions thread.
Has anyone tried to run an Abyss 1266 Phi TC from this amp? If so, how was the pairing and did it have enough power to adequately drive them?- Tom Blake

Silver finish Degritter record cleaning machine. In excellent condition with just under 450 cleaning cycles performed. Works great with one minor issue. The rear panel power switch is stuck in the ON position. Has no operational impact whatsoever. Selling as I don't use it enough to justify the...- Tom Blake

Astell&Kern A&Ultima SP2000T Impressions Thread
Wait...hold the phone. Just got it to show in Settings/Audio within Roon on my PC. It is connected via ethernet, as is my Roon Core. May be a WiFi issue with iPhone and iPad? The SP2KT seems to be working fine in Roon with the PC though so I don't think it has an issue.- Tom Blake

Astell&Kern A&Ultima SP2000T Impressions Thread
Yes, enabled on SP2KT and does not show up at all on Settings/Audio menu within Roon. This applies to 3 different devices used to control Roon in my setup (Windows PC, iPhone and iPad). The SP2KT does not show up as a Roon ready device on any of them.- Tom Blake

Astell&Kern A&Ultima SP2000T Impressions Thread
Just received my SP2KT and am loving it so far. Sounds incredible with Campfire Ara IEMs! Has anyone had trouble getting it to show up in Roon? I have the Roon selection on in the SP2KT menu and the DAP is definitely on the same network (with a fixed IP address) as my Roon Core. No amount of...- Tom Blake

Benchmark HPA4 Headphone / Line Amplifier Impressions
Got my HPA4 a few weeks ago and have been steadily breaking it in. So far it has been performing great with my Abyss TC and also as a preamp for my 3 sources. I got the rackmount version of the HPA4 for use with a Platform desk by Output. Really happy with this desk! I bought F208Franks's DAC3 B...- Tom Blake

The JPS Labs: Abyss AB-1266 Impressions Thread
Just joined the club :) Should have my 1266 TC Lite package in about 2 weeks. I will be using it with a Benchmark HPA4. Also have a Lazuli Reference with Mini XLR connectors I will try. Is that cable a good match with the TC? It seems the HPA4 is more than capable of driving the TC's. I also use...- Tom Blake

Hugo M Scaler by Chord Electronics - The Official Thread
Don't know if you are all aware of the NuPrime CDT-8 Pro CD transport. This unit looks like it was made to partner with the HMS. It is the exact same width and a little shallower to make for a perfect stacking partner. I have gotten out of my Chord gear so no longer need this transport. Thought...- Tom Blake

Chord Electronics ☆ Poly ☆ (wireless & microSD module for Mojo) ☆★►USEFUL INFO on 1st PAGE!!◄★☆
@Matt - I am having a strange issue with my Poly that has been successfully upgraded to 2.0. I hadn't used it in a week or so and the Poly battery went dead, After charging and turning on the Poly appears locked into the firmware update cycle with the alternating RGB Poly LED. Any thoughts on...- Tom Blake

CHORD ELECTRONICS DAVE
Has anyone had an issue with DAVE spontaneously going into Headphone mode and muting the line outputs? Inserting and removing a headphone cable clears the issue. It has only happened a few times but was curious if other have seen this?- Tom Blake

CHORD ELECTRONICS DAVE
The Empyrean is the first headphone that I have found sounds best with Crossfeed off on DAVE. Everything else I have listened to I have preferred Crossfeed set to 2 or 3. Advantage is I don't have to remember to turn it off when listening to the Empyrean and switching to speakers!- Tom Blake

Meze EMPYREAN - the First Isodynamic Hybrid Array Headphone
My leather pads are perforated on the inner vertical surface just like @Ultrainferno's pic. I imagine that's the standard leather pad. Would be nice to get a fully perforated version like Utopia's for comparison. I am continuing to love the Empyrean! This is the perfect headphone for me and my...- Tom Blake

I agree Tim! CHORD ELECTRONICS DAVE
Yes I run WAVE Storm Reference cables between Blu2 and DAVE. Very happy with these cables from Nick! They definitely reduced some residual brightness in my system and provided a richer, darker tone to my overall sound quality. CHORD ELECTRONICS DAVE
I have been very happy with Utopia direct from DAVE. At times they can be a bit much though with the hyperdetail and I take a break with my ZMFs. I was intrigued by the Empyrean and wanted to give them a try. The potential of a top tier planar that can be easily driven direct by DAVE is very...- Tom Blake

Headphones for metal music - ultimate solution
I've had my Meze Empyrean for a few days now and they are simply outstanding on metal! They have a warm tuning with perfect midrange tone and deep bass. They sound exceptional on vocals and guitars.
