If anyone with a MK VI can answer a question I would really appreciate it. Does the knob on the front control the amp gain, or does it attenuate the signal? If the latter, does it do this to the input or output? Anyone know the specs on the pot? Thanks very much!

Thinking about getting the LD Mk VI and going balanced with my HD-650's. Reading the review and thinking--perhaps too much--about the fans and vibration that they might bring to the table. I put tube dampers on my BAT VK-31EE preamp and convinced myself that if I can't hear any improvement...
