The only specs I can find for the LD mk3 indicate preamp output impedance of 600 ohm; I doubt this is the output impedance of the headphone out as 600 ohms is a lot. Some people say the ideal amps has an output impedance of 1/10 to 1/8 the headphone impedance, so I'm trying to see how well this...

By tight I mean precision in timings of multiple instruments/sounds relative to each other.      My hypothesis is as the title of the thread states: Bigger soundstage means less tight musically.   My rationale is that the relative perceived distances from the ear of different sounds affect...

For songs which have great tightness of the music (by which I mean precision in timing between multiple instruments - sorry if this is the wrong term), I find my closed DT660s reveal this well whereas my semi-open DT880s do not.   It makes me wonder if the effect of having different sounds...

The sound quality out of my headphone socket of my stereo is poor. Could I fix this by plugging a headphone amp into the headphone socket or if the sound is bad at the socket does that mean nothing further down the chain is going to fix it? And if the latter is the case is there anything bad...
