One of the dials is faulty and causes it to stop working.

These amplifiers were very highly thought of when they were introduced.

I know this is a very old post The whole purpose of replying to this question is if someone else comes along after us, they will see my answer and hoping it will aid them in their buying of Sansui 310.

My very good friend gifted me a "Sansui 310" about a week or so back, it was in pristine condition. I would say if anyone gets a choice of buying one of these, please go ahead and buy it because it absolutely blew away everything I had, even the newer Sansui AU-X111. Sound quality is so warm as if it is coming out of a tube amplifier. The FM tuner was so powerful that it picks up signal on stereo mode even without a proper antenna. The best part is the headphone jack, I plugged my HD-6XX and there goes the bliss. I am not technically inclined to explain these things in electronic data and details but my ears can say the difference of great sound and bad sound. This one sounds so awesome now I love listening to FM broadcasts with my HD-6XX plugged to this.

If you get a chance to buy it, go ahead and buy it. It looks beautiful in the dim light with its wonderful yellowish glow.
