Repair/Replace HD600 headband cushion & grills?
My HD600's are starting to get worn out. New ear pads are in the plans, $40, no problem there. (That does buy a PAIR from sennheiser, right? Not $40 ea?) Is the HD580 headband cushion the correct one for the HD600's too? Can't imagine why they'd be different, but they don't list it as a...- Rescue Toaster

FET complimentary buffer?
Is there a simple FET complimentary buffer? Something like the BJT diamond stuff... but with fets. I like to run deep Class A.. 60-70ma quiescent, and that doesn't seem possible with most of the diamond buffers out there. And I'm so lousy with BJT design I wouldn't know where to begin after...- Rescue Toaster

In this circuit there's really only 4 parts that carry AC signal, the tube, the parafeed...- Rescue Toaster

Alternate balanced (4 pin) headphone connectors?
I've seen some people use dual full-size XLR's, and some use special 4-pin (And mini 4-pin) XLR's, but I'm wondering about some other options... I was thinking about a 9-pin dsub with all but 4 pins removed, or more interestingly (and more compact) a USB or firewire connector? Anyone ever...- Rescue Toaster

Biasing HD600's at high voltage without killing myself.
Just wondering if anyone has done this sort of thing. I know the Gilmore electrostatic amps deliver high voltage bias to the headphones, but of course they're designed for that. I have two options in my case, the easy one is biasing the ground lug of the headphones at 250 volts, which seems a...- Rescue Toaster
