The ZMF Susvara Sheepskin pad is a near tonal copy of the stock pads with slightly more bass and slightly less withdrawn upper mids. I am obsessed with ZMF Auteur Solid Hybrid pads which basically correct every tonal balance issue you may notice.

Yes apart of Dekoni there are ZMF pads that are supposed to be straight upgrades from Sus pads. About to order one of both, not sure which, I believe the hybrid got more bass and the other one is more refined susvara stock pad tuning. If someone got those, curious to hear a review.

I'm curious what pads everyone is using, I've just fitted the Dekoni Fenestrated Leather and am really enjoying them (iFi iCAN Phantom with Tube mode engaged)

"Slammerphones" ... what a brilliant term LOL! I find with Susvara that any meddling away from its standard sound wrecks something else. EQ its bass and it muddies midrange and slows a touch. And whilst i do EQ its a very very subtle EQ or i hear bad changes! Pads must be like changing to...

...Also, the pads, as I discovered recently. My pads were feeling a little thin and squidgy after years of use and I recently replaced them with Dekoni Elite Sheepskin - and was quite surprised at how much it affected the sound. There is quite a lot more bass and slam but at the cost of a...

They call it "fenestrated". They're... the very first set of pads.

I just looked at the Dekoni site for compatible Sus pads but didn't see a perf leather option. Do your pads correspond with any of the ones listed?

Change the pads, I have dekoni perforated leather ones and it’s better than stock for heat.

You ought to hear it on a top tier tube amp. Its utter beguiling. There are not rough edges unless they were already in the music. Voices are real. Notes hang. THe recording space can be "seen". Its an experience, even listening to 60's music is special, it doesnt need the best recordings...

Had another listen to the Susvara at yesterday's DC area meet. This Susvara had the Dekoni Velour earpads, so not the stock tonality, but it seemed close enough to what I remember it being. Used the Schiit Yggdrasil and Mjolnir 3; I don't recall if feedback was enabled or not on the MJ3 - since...

...so they are an outlier. Every Focal headphone I've had, Stellia, Clear MG, and Utopia all sounded better with stock pads by a mile. I've used Dekoni pads on the Focals. Never pad rolled a Susvara, but I wouldn't want any loss in bass quantity, so I guess I should just stick with stock? On a...

What rings did you use? I ordered a generic 3D print from eBay (China), and the attachment tabs snapped on me as I was trying to flex it when putting it on. I've been using some Auteur pads on the Sundara (which I got some generic injection-molded cheap things from Amazon) and that has worked...

...ZMF Auteur Solid Hybrid: The Auteur pad is a great platform for the Susvara. The earpad opening is nearly identical to both the stock and Dekoni pads, except it's quite a bit deeper at the back providing a steeper angle. Size-wise, they fit on the Susvara perfectly with a normal HiFiMAN ring...

I never talked about pad rolling on the Sus, allthough i own a pair of the Dekoni pads for the Susvara (fenestrated sheepskin). I tried them when i bought my Susvara and they didn't really improve the sound, so i put the stock ones back on. I still have them and will just keep them when...

5 things that helped me to get more bass/solidity/punch: - Dekoni fenstrated sheepskin pads - Arctic Cables Aperion v thick copper cable - Dukei CFA3 - Supratek 300b preamp (with Audio Note tubes) - Running the EC 512 DSD filters in HQ Player All 5 steps helped quite a bit. The best value...

I just bought the Hybrid Elite and wondering if they are still the same for you. Not compressing, still have the same space? The stock is exactly 1mm to small for me. My ears are touching the panel.

Ok new update. Put on the stock pads. Compared to the FSS I do think they are similar. Stock pads seems to have better timbre. Treble is just right with my extended, brighter tubes. Soundstage, micro details seems to be about the same. Compared to FSS, I feel that stock lacks some slight low...

FWIW, I went back to the stock pads about a year ago after rocking the Dekoni FSS for maybe 18 months before that. They're pretty similar sonically to my ear, but I think the stock pads may be a tad thicker (in dimension), which I prefer. The thickness of either stock or Dekoni pads can...

If you like ZMF pads you can check latest Caldera pads, they are bigger inside almost like Susvara pads, unfortunately they don’t have hybrid, I am checking Suede and next will be Lambskin thick. With Suede sound stage is bigger, not mentioning comfort.

I also found them too shallow and I don't have large ears. The Dekoni pads are not much deeper. I ended up using ZMF auteur hybrid pads with a Hifiman mounting ring, as someone in this thread suggested, and I'm quite happy with that.

...rounder headphones that you can get. With regard to 1: The stock pads are best. If you absolutely must get aftermarket pads, you can get the Dekoni hybrid fenestrated pads and they should be pretty good. It should be noted that QC on the Susvara stock pads vary. I've seen/owned ones where...

If you want a boost in bass, try simply leaving a notch or two undone on the pads, I did this with my Hek v2 and it really did good to increase the bass, with Susvara I don't have any need with Dekoni FSS imo

Are there any pads designed to "break the seal" as i do love the additional bass depth when you pull them slightly off your head from the cables. Its an significant bass boost.

Depends on which Dekoni pads. I tried the Dekoni Elite Velour pads when @xtiva and @gzbaga brought it over. To my surprise it wasn't that much different from the stock Harmony pads but perhaps a tad warmer. Very comfortable though. I still prefer the Harmony pads and have a spare set.
