Any of you guys using the MDR Z1R with the Hugo 2? My mind's already made on getting this combo, but I'd still love to hear some impressions! ^__^

Dreaming 3.5mm output for my Sony MDR-Z1R and RCA output for my KEF LS50 Wireless (mojo/mojo hf+ filter). Splendid! But not the price...... Speaking from a Mojo user

The carefree banter must of course maintain a sense of urgency and imminent importance in its tone........on topic: tomorrow i may be getting a sony mdr-z1r headphone to pair with hugo2/mscaler. If i decide to i will be trading in my Oppo PM1.

Unfortunately the Kef ls50 wireless RCA in will take the analog, convert to digital, and put then apply the kef's own DACs....unfortunate.

Good to see some Hugo2Go getting fresh love. Until I find a DAP capable of a more incisive technical performance, then I'll be sticking with the Hugo2Go. For me, it's the only portable source that legitimately competes with a desktop performance. I also have no issues with 2Go - it's instant and...

Is that the Sony that got mixed reviews between Jude and Tyll? If so, I hope you'll definitely give your take on it.

what makes the dt 880 600 ohm stand out is that it's one of the hardest headphones out there to drive properly. using it with a chord stack bearing this in mind becomes a viable challenge. on the dt 880 thread there are headfiers using this can with multi K set ups. my (£1100) PM1 sounds sublime...

If anyone can transfer into my mailbox on permanent loan a TT2 or Dave i would be more than happy to carry out tests with my hms as suggested by Hooster. Right now the sony mdr z1r headphone is a strictly lust after item following my recent acquisition of hms, h2 and oppo pm1. These three will...

I'm also very interested in which headphones will bring out the best in w Hugo 2 / mscaler. I currently have HD800 but am considering a move to Utopias... My music tastes are varied but Jazz / Pop / Rock and Opera all form a part.

Have you not considered any of the Focal or Audeze lineup? I find it interesting you choose to prioritise source over the headphones themselves. Not to say that's wrong, just the generally accepted wisdom is that headphones provide the biggest sonic differences (not necessarily upgrades!)

Hi all, I’m currently running my Sony MDR-Z1Rs with a Mojo 2 and thinking about upgrading the dac / amp to a Hugo2. Couple of questions: - Will I notice a significant improvement in SQ over the Mojo2? In what way will the sound be better? - I listen mainly to electronic music (house and...

You may wish to try a different source than Imac(Roon) Optical. It does not have to cost anything, I am sure you can borrow something. I have no idea if that would make any difference, but who knows, you might be surprised.

I'm lucky to have a good quality optical stream out of my imac which is also my roon core. Usb=optical for sound quality with mscaler.:relaxed:For usb i would either need a laptop usb roon bridge, a usb roon endpoint like an ipad or usb from my mains powered imac. None of these options better...

I was in Harrods London today going to try the sony mdr z1r. So they set it up with the sp1000 and some Gregory Porter and i turned up the volume to the max of 150 and just waited for something to happen and it didn't. Ok the display was nice but this thing is seriously underpowered compared to...

As @ChrisGB said you will loose the EQ, it may be worth waiting for Hugo3 which will have the Mojo2's lossless EQ, probably with more bands and more control (probably) If you just want more of Chord's awesomeness then the Hugo2 will give you some more of that, will you notice much difference in...

https://www.head-fi.org/threads/chord-electronics-hugo-2-the-official-thread.831345/post-17650015 I'd say the Hugo 2 won't give you the capability to boost bass. Unless the Sony has a really good EQ, I'd stick with the Mojo 2. Hugo 2 gives you what is recorded. I listen to a lot of electronic...

Now if I could only decide between the Utopia, HE1000 V2, MDR-Z1R, and Ether Flow headphones... I may have to demo them.
