Fostex T50RP Incremental Mods and Measurements
I once used a heat gun to loosen the glue holding the magnets in place inside the capsule. The glue liquified and looked rather yellowish. Possibly, the yellow discoloration on yours is a manufacturing flaw. If they sound fine, I wouldn’t worry about it. From your pix, it looks like your...- bluemonkeyflyer

Kameleon v2 Amp and FR Correction Filter Modules
Soldering is required. You can learn by watching YouTube videos and practicing using cheap components from radio shack. You'll need a source and DAC to use with the amp described in this thread.- bluemonkeyflyer

Reversible AKG K701 bass mod
Thanks for sharing. I need to order bits from mouser and give it a try. Another approach is solderdude's Kameleon headphone amp with the corresponding filter module that sounds very good. It's easy to build and allows you to build filter modules for other headphones.- bluemonkeyflyer

This video shows how to open the drivers. I made the video when conducting a failed modification experiment. The 4 snap tabs are easy to break so try this at your own risk...no guarantees! They will definitely break if you just try to pry them off. If you break the snap tabs, you can use dabs...- bluemonkeyflyer

I used a Weller WES51 set @ 700 F, Kester liquid flux pen, Kester eutectic solder, and a 1/8" screwdriver tip. No problem. Good luck!- bluemonkeyflyer
