Bluetooth headphones that sound like Koss Porta Pros
I love the sound of Koss Porta Pros, KSC 75s, KTXPros etc. Any recommendations for bluetooth headphones that sound like or similar to the Koss? I spent some time with a B&O H8 and H9, Bose QC35 and Marshall MID today and I like those Marshall MIDs the most. Those B&O and Bose have an extreme...- afbug

Koss Portapro Thread
Can't say for sure. It looks like Best Buy's version that I have. I think its sometime in 2007-2009. Will not be before 2005. Braided cables on Porta Pros only appear after 2005 if I'm not wrong.- afbug

Xiaomi Hybrid IEM Thread (Piston successor)
So still no official name for these earphones? Xiaomi Singapore call these Mi In-Ear Headphones Pro and I think it will be the official name. (Their old Pistons are no longer called Pistons. Its Mi In-Ear Headphones.) http://www.mi.com/sg/headphonespro/ I don't own these. Tempted but...- afbug

Yes yes Book of Souls on the way. Wait for it. Up the irons! Edit: I've check out @twister6 photos. The bore of the tips I got isn't as wide as his. Maybe that's why the difference I heard is slight.- afbug

Yes they are. I think it made a slight difference. It's a little less bassy, less 'V' shape sound.- afbug

I've received the ear guides. Makes wearing over the ear easier. It's my first time using ear guides although I've own Shures and Westones, kinda novelty for me. Those colored tips are from eBay. I bought them so it's easier to differentiate left to right. Here's the weird part; it's not as...- afbug

Where can I buy this MEE M6 Pro cable? I've been out of touch for so long, never heard of this MEE before. Never intended to buy this AD01 too nor have any idea it exists until I saw the ad on Facebook. (Yup, those ads work and I bought it on a wimp) I've been very happy with my Etys and Koss...- afbug

Alpha & Delta AD01
Just bought this a few days back. Very well constructed but a bit big and heavy. Sonically its bassy but have a pleasing sound. I didn't buy the upgrade cable cos I'm not sure about it. The supplied cable is very microphonic.- afbug

Koss KSC75's. Dont Forget This Giant Killer in all the ''Hidden Gem'' Hype.
The straight plugs are the older version about 2007-10. After that it's back to the L plugs. KTXPros are straight plugs.- afbug

Time management is part and parcel of life isn't it? As you can see I don't really have a choice as the ER4 isn't my only earphone and I can't leave them lying around. Too messy.- afbug

Etymotic MK5... any users?
I'm curious about the MK5, will they do a headset version like hf3/mc3? I've the Etykids too, not sure why I bought it, went crazy momentary. Whatever you do, just avoid the mc series. It sounded like the ER4S, flat FR but minus all the details.- afbug

I've bought this for my Ety too, and its smaller than I thought. Smaller than the soft case that came with the ER4. It will fit the ER4 (have to coil the cables tighter) but suits the smaller/shorter hf/mc series cables better. Size comparison: the hard case with the various Ety soft cases.- afbug

I haven't have time to spend time with it but my first impression is its SQ is 'in between' 4P and 4S. Slightly better details that the 4P but still fall short of the 4S. Bass is slightly weaker too but it's treble sparkle more. Is it worth it? Don't bother and just go for the 75ohm for the 4P...- afbug

If you still love Etymotic ER4, this is the thread for you...
I recently bought 33 ohm adaptor from AW Audio. Somehow I got the crazy idea that 4P's 27ohm + 33ohm = 60ohm will make it sound like a Koss Portapro. Anyway, he sent a 75ohm P-S adaptor, I told him he made a mistake. He sent the 33ohm version and told me to keep the 75ohm. So I ended up with 2...- afbug

The Etymotics HF5 Thread
I took a different path from most people. Usually, people start with the entry level model, in Ety's case, the mc and hf series. But I got my ER4P&S many years ago and recently, I went bonkers and bought a hf3 and mc3. I think the hf series are very good for the money, a slightly strip down...- afbug

I think each person's ear is unique so some might work, some might not. But I do know that the correct insertion for the best sound (No harsh treble, excellent bass) is as deep as described by uzi2. Only the cable should be sticking out. To do that, I trimmed my eartip's stem as short as...- afbug

They have stock at the Singapore site, really tempting but I really fear that it will sound like the pistons. Too 'V' shape sound for me and the piston's highs can kill me.- afbug

Koss KSC75's. Dont Forget This Giant Killer in all the ''Hidden Gem'' Hype.
Just the headband alone will fit in the dimensions given but don't you need to add some bubble wrap for protection? These are fragile. The whole package with the drivers will not fit because they're attached to the headband. Removing the drivers will mean opening the package and it will fit...- afbug

Koss Portapro Thread
Those are not too good, if you want to stay true to the PP sound. Tightens up the bass but the mids are bumped up and brought forwards. Good if you want to experiment with PP's sound. Doing the Kramer mod, flexing the headband to make it looser, use the 'soft' setting or the parts express...- afbug

The Xiaomi Pistons Thread 2.0
The original supplied ear tips are too slippery for me, so I found these on eBay. Those blue foams offer slightly better isolation but it also makes the sound crazier. There is more bass and treble. I can't take the treble, its crazier and harsher than my ER4P/S.- afbug
