The Wizard Appreciation Thread - Long Live the Wizard - The former HA Appreciation Thread
I dont know that the others are saying about the 5.0 (havent read their impressions) so this is honestly what I think between the two, - The 5.0 has a stronger bass and it runs much deeper than the 4.Ai. There is more depth and songs feel fuller. - The mids of the 5.0 are veiled and...- underhysteria

How does the C3 sound with an amp? I am aware that it doesnt contain a line out port and hence you would be double amping it.- underhysteria

Sennheiser HD 600 Impressions Thread
I'm already enjoying the HD600 with the T-11's solid state output. If the HD600 is already this pleasing, I wonder how much difference the almighty HD800 will make- underhysteria

REVIEW: Grant Fidelity TubeDAC-11
Doesnt seem to work for the toslink connection. No sound no matter which applications I used. However, there were no problems with USB connection via the method you shown in which I select the 'grant fidelity-11' as the default playing device.- underhysteria

REVIEW: Grant Fidelity TubeDAC-11
Thumbs up to grant fidelity for the extremely fast shipping! However I cant get this to work with the digital output (no sound!) soundcard SPDIF out ---> t-11 (digital input) ---> turns switch to 'optical' --> the 'digital' LED is flashed in red Am i missing out something here...- underhysteria

REVIEW: Grant Fidelity TubeDAC-11
Thanks flysweep, really appreciate you in helping me out with the t-11 and HD600. My main priority is to pair the HD600 with solid state output amp component.. the tube is just a bonus :)- underhysteria

Hisoundaudio STUDIO-V Review

Hisoundaudio STUDIO-V Review
Quote: Just a feedback for you in regards with the 8.A and the normal Studio V. My 8.As synergized really well with the Studio V in which its performance sits really well in between the walkman Z and the ibasso dx100. There is slightly more depth with the dx100 but the overall...- underhysteria

Sennheiser HD 600 Impressions Thread
Quote: I've listened to both the HD600 & HD800 side by side a day ago. It is no surprise that the HD800 (which costs about 4 times more) exhibits far more details with a very wide soundstage but the HD600 is good in its own way and definitely more enjoyable to listen to depending on...- underhysteria

REVIEW: Grant Fidelity TubeDAC-11
Quote: Well thanks for the input.. i dont know how much noticeable sonic improvement the audinst will benefit from the increased power anyway. I'm still quite skeptical over this. From what I read, both the audinst and tube-dac11 have no problems synergizing with the HD600s. The...- underhysteria

DAC under U$ 150 ? ... DAC + SoundCard ?
Quote: Yeah you could use that via the lineout (don't worry im sure FIIO has a manual). Or you can actually utilize the SPDIF connection to connect the xonar to the E17. The xonar has a SPDIF slot and my set came with an adapter so I'm able to plug in the toslink cable into the...- underhysteria

DAC under U$ 150 ? ... DAC + SoundCard ?
I own the Asus Xonar DX and I find that the sound coming from it to be very 'transparent' and 'clean'. It can indeed be very digital and fatiguing at times when paired with neutral phones. Of course, the dynamics and depth isnt the best but the right headphones/amp will definitely...- underhysteria

REVIEW: Grant Fidelity TubeDAC-11
Quote: Quote: Thanks for the prompt reply.. that pretty sums it up. Seems that the t-11 is the dac/amp I've to include in my <$400 criterion. I was initially considering the yulong d100mkii but the price point of this grant fidelity makes the deal even sweeter (and free...- underhysteria

Hisoundaudio STUDIO-V Review
Spent some time auditioning the DT 880 and HD600 with the Studio V at approximately 30 mins each. We had a RSA darkstar setup as well as a couple of portable amp setups as a benchmark to observe how the Studio V is able to unleash these 300ohm cans. For a start, the Studio V manages to...- underhysteria

REVIEW: Grant Fidelity TubeDAC-11
Quote: Thanks mate.. that pretty sums it up the reason for you in owning both setups. Project86 claimed that half of his headphones sounded poor when driven out straight from the tube buffer. I was pretty worried if the HD600 synergizes poorly with this tube component. You seem to...- underhysteria

REVIEW: Grant Fidelity TubeDAC-11
Hi, this might be silly question as it seems. I'm relatively unfamilar with the implementations of the DAC so bear with me Which is the recommended form of connection? I.e, more stable, better audio transmission and etc. 1) Direct USB connection from the t-11 to the desktop...- underhysteria
