My WA6 Maxxed pairs just as well with Auteur as my Krell Klone does, IMO. Great if you want a bit warmer amp in your chain without going full syrup tube mode.- nScott89

I've not used them on any premium tube amps, but I definitely prefer the Auteur on amps with a bit less warmth. As great as it sounds out of my Theta Progeny -> Klone, in some ways I prefer it into my Valhalla 2. I didn't notice TOO much difference with my WA6 Maxxed with GZ34 and 6SN7s vs the...- nScott89

It's easy to drive and provide enough power to be loud, but the Auteur is VERY transparent to your audio chain. More-so than any headphone I've heard. @bmnathe- nScott89

Thank you for the reply. :)I'm interested to hear what you think of the Auteur + Jot pairing. Also curious how much of a difference a SPC cable would make with Auteur as it seems very sensitive to 'chainges'. :D Bit off topic, but have you ever compared the Aficionado to the Dragon IHA-1?- nScott89

@cskippy Thank you for all the very useful technical information. What amp were you using when you found the Auteur to be too dark and warm for most? I would tend agree when listening out of my Klone. I feel like Auteur is very sensitive to pairings. You definitely want to use this headphone on...- nScott89

I basically ordered a Valhalla 2 based off of IWantTacos's Auteur review. Auteur pairs VERY well with it. I am absolutely loving this. Out of the Klone the mid-bass sounded a bit bloated but Valhalla 2 makes it sound a lot better to me. I hope to write more soon but get your Auteur orders in...- nScott89

I'm an idiot. I had my AGD C2.11 in my chain as a output selector/preamp and it was set to line level out but it was really killing these headphones. I've now removed from my chain and I have to say that everything is soooooo much more dynamic and lively! They were rather boring and really...- nScott89

ATTICUS and EIKON, the new dynamic driver headphones from ZMF
I should have Eikon back around the end of November I think. A friend is borrowing them right now. However, I can get his impressions for you when he gets them in on Monday. I have a feeling the non-perforated Auteur pads will hit a sweet spot.- nScott89

ATTICUS and EIKON, the new dynamic driver headphones from ZMF
The universe pads somehow deaden the overall response and kind of make it a a good bit less aggressive. I haven't heard the new non-perforated Auteur pads yet but they are supposed to be a middle ground and am excited to hear them as I do feel like the Universe pads take a little bit too much...- nScott89

AGD also makes the R2R 1 and R2R 2 which are $840 and $740 respectively the R2R 11 which is $385. These are prices to the US approximately. Schiit has a few multibit options as well as Soekris and Metrum. I'm fact there are a lot of companies making multibit these days.- nScott89

I haven't heard the Auteur yet, but if you're worried the Eikon might be a bit too much on the "fun" side, and don't want to wait for the Auteur you might want to consider getting the Eikon and a set of the new ZMF Universe pads. Zach was kind enough to send the non-perforated lambskin version...- nScott89
