The CEntrance Hi-Fi M8 V2 Thread
Thanks, everyone, for the clarification on shipping; I should have gone back and looked at the very beginning of the thread. It is frustrating that I had to come here to get that explanation/reminder, and that my multiple emails to Centrance have all been ignored. Again, I fully understand how...- hardtimes

The CEntrance Hi-Fi M8 V2 Thread
A couple of people have already mentioned this, but CEntrance is now asking people to pay shipping costs. I assume this is true for everyone who pre-ordered, but my order, which I paid for 19 months ago, explicitly said "Free Shipping." I received an email last week saying my unit was ready and...- hardtimes

CEntrance BlueDAC - Anyone aware?
So you'd use the Apple lightning to USB camera adapter and then a microUSB to USB cable to connect the BlueDAC to the to the Apple cable -- correct? Also, if you don't seek Apple approval right away, does that mean you still might seek it down the line?- hardtimes

CEntrance BlueDAC - Anyone aware?
Got it -- thanks. In terms of using a wired connection with an iPhone or iOS device (or even the new MacBook Pros, which only have lightening jacks) -- how would that work?- hardtimes

CEntrance BlueDAC - Anyone aware?
I might be missing something, but it looks like at the moment, the highest quality audio playback wouldn't be available for iOS (or the new MacBook Pros) without a micro-USB to USB adapter -- does that seem to be correct? There aren't a lot of lightning-micro USB cables available, and the one I...- hardtimes

Sennheiser HD 600 Impressions Thread
Enoha, did you ever try wearing them without music to see if the problem is the clamping? I'm seriously thinking about jumping on the Amazon deal for the 600's + a $150 Amazon Gift Card for $400 total -- but this is something that definitely concerns me...- hardtimes

Sennheiser HD 600 Impressions Thread
FYI -- Amazon is selling them today for $400, but that price comes with a $150 Amazon gift card, so you're essentially getting them for $250. That's the lowest I've ever seen them.- hardtimes

The Centrance HiFi M8 thread
Before I post this question, I'll acknowledge that I haven't read through the entire 291-page thread -- but I've done as many searches as I could think of and haven't been able to figure out the answer to this question, so I'll pose it here. I'm going to get a HiFi-M8. I'm an Apple guy, and...- hardtimes

Quote: An update on my situation: finally, today, 17 days after USPS says Head-Direct received notice of the package, Ms. T told me "Most likely the package has already been returned to you." That obviously didn't happen -- as the USPS confirmation page clearly shows. Aaargh.- hardtimes

I've been trying for several weeks to figure out what happened to a pair of RE-262's that I paid to have fixed (the wires had frayed). I sent them in on November 8 and was sent back a defective pair (the right ear didn't work and the cord was so short it didn't even reach to my waist). Ms. T...- hardtimes

1964 Ears
An update: Just got an email from Vitaliy, who said he could give me a $100 discount, which seems fair. (It's basically half off of what it'll cost to fix them, although i also need to get another impression, which'll add another $50 or so.) I asked him if he'd recommend I get hard tips instead...- hardtimes

Hi. I'm having a problem with my RE262s: the casing on the wires has frayed in multiple places. I've been trying to repair it with electrical tape, but at this point I'm not sure there's much more I can do to keep them together. These are no longer under warranty, although this started...- hardtimes

Hifiman RE262 Initial Impressions
I'm not entirely sure this is the proper place for this question, but I'm loathe to start a new thread -- and I figure if this isn't, someone can at least steer me right. I have a pair of Hifiman RE262's. I really like the sound. However, the wires are basically shot -- the insulation...- hardtimes

Quote: Yeah, that was the other part that frustrated me: If I'd been told, 'Not only will vinyl tips be more expensive, but you'll essentially be buying something with a shelf life of ~ year,' I obviously wouldn't have gone with that choice, but the way it was presented was that the...- hardtimes

1964 Ears
So: I have a question about whether or not I'm being reasonable. I got a pair of the 1964 V-3's last June. There were some problems right off the bat -- the fit on the left ear was way off -- but instead of sending them back, I took them to an audiologist, who made some slight adjustments (with...- hardtimes

Man, you got away for a while and these threads can get unruly damn quickly! I got my 1964T's yesterday. I was incredibly excited to get them; the only other IEMs I've owned, the HiFiMan RE 262's, have been a decidedly mixed bag. The sound is good/great, but the cables are among the worst...- hardtimes
