iBasso DX180 Got your music? Enjoy the concert! Released and ready to play. Manual download on the 1st page.

Has anybody used Neutron on the DX180 yet? Is it running beyond the 48kHz limit when connected by USB to an external DAC?

Do you have any specific reference for this volume cap in North America? There is a requirement in Europe, but I have not heard of one for anywhere else. What I don't understand for any player is how this can be enforced solely on the player when the headphones efficiency also has a bearing on...

No firmware will change this, it is not controlled by the OS. If your micro SD card has a label on it or isn't quite the standard size, perhaps it is just sticking a bit. It fits very tight normally.

The micro SD card is released by pushing it in the same way you locked it in when it was inserted. This is pretty common for many devices and almost all iBasso players. Try using a second card to press and release it,

I guess a good starting point is price. The DX180 starts at $469, the discontinued DX300 was $1299 and the current DX320 is $1599. Are any of the DX3xx series 2.5x to 3x better in sound, performance, or storage capability? Of course there is always the flagship performance to consider, and for...

How is the UI "broken" on this brand new device? Edit: I assume you are going back to the issue you had on the DX170 with the status bar display in some apps? The one that nobody else reported as a problem? Apparently you just don't like iBasso devices.

Sound upgrade is minimal. But the UI performance, system speed, Android 13 OS, and especially battery life all seem to be significant improvements over the DX170. Further to this, for those like me with a DX160 there were less improvements there going to the DX170. Mostly WiFi performance. For...

Probably not longer than when it was new, but likely longer than the current original battery now lasts. Note that a bigger battery will likely not fit in the case, it is pretty tight in there.

DX180 by iBasso. Enjoy the view to your music. Green, Black and Light Blue.

Agreed. This looks like a great 2024 entry for the $500 band. Not sure about the green and blue colours compared to the DX160/DX170 but black is always the safe choice. Subbed too. Almost time to consider an upgrade for my 160(2020) perhaps?

What kind of file number or size limit are you talking about in your case? And what player app are you using that just crashes when a few more are added? The built-in Mango Player I find uses a very hungry database file, especially if you have large album art embedded. Perhaps this library file...

Depends on a couple of things. The screen is the biggest battery hog. Even when set to the lowest brightness, it is still brighter than other devices and takes a chunk out of the battery. I have set my screen to go dark automatically after 1min as well. The other power demon on the DX160 is the...

Opinions vary widely based on the user. If by "big ui one" you are referring to the background of the status bar, I wouldn't suggest this is a bug, but instead an appearance you don't like that does not have an option to change. There is a difference. The last firmware update for DX160 was...

This is about the same for me. Never had my 2020 model DX160 die before I was ready to charge. And charge time remains under 2 hours from running it right down to under 10%. I usually get 4-5 hours of listening in, depending on how juicy I get with the volume and how often I bring the screen to...

I wouldn't hold my breath for this. Mango player has been used on many iBasso devices over many years and has yet to have the Composer tag added to the library database for browsing. And since the other description tags like Conductor, Orchestra, etc. are even less "standard" these are even...

iBasso DX170 You want your Music? It is right here. *** NEW Firmware: 1.06 Apple support and other additions! ***

Classical music and how it is browsed differently than modern popular music cataloging is a common complaint. The native Mango player handles Classical music in a basic way. But fortunately with the Android OS there are other free/paid player apps that may be more suitable for your use case...

Well I guess that just shows you can't please all the people all the time. The OS works just fine for the native Mango application, as well as most 3rd party players I have used. If you are expecting phone-like operation or want to use apps that are not related to playing music, this is not your...

Sorry, three years of update support for a device with a fixed purpose seems reasonable IMO. It's not like they cease to operate after that. But based on the design criteria for a hi-res music player that does exactly that, what additional updates need to be addressed? These aren't full blown...

The last update for DX160 was 2022-08-01, three years after the original release date. I think that is about the norm for most devices like this. While I suppose it may still be possible, I wouldn't get your hopes up. If you really need a music player with more precise control of the EQ than...

I have been using a 1TB SanDisk Ultra card, about 75% full with a mix of mostly ALAC, a few DSD, and a few older mp3 files. Currently I’m at about 25k and regardless of which player I use it takes about 12-15 minutes to scan. Except Mango - that takes well over an hour.

The biggest challenge I have with Neutron is the limit of using either Albumartist or Artist for the list, it can’t do both. And further it doesn’t separate artists. Otherwise it may have been the real champ.

GoneMAD uses the base Android audio engine right now, so while the UI and Smart playlist features are great the audio limited. Neutron on the other hand is extremely focused on audio and sounds the best to me on the DX160 but lacks on the UI side. Poweramp sits nicely between them with a very...
